18 U.S.C § 241, “Conspiracy Against Rights,” includes a penalty of up to 10 years in federal prison. But it adds that if death results from the actions covered under this provision, the offender may be executed:
If two or more persons conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege secured to him by the Constitution or laws of the United States, or because of his having so exercised the same; or
If two or more persons go in disguise on the highway, or on the premises of another, with intent to prevent or hinder his free exercise or enjoyment of any right or privilege so secured—
They shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, they shall be fined under this title or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.
One person — Ashli Babbitt, a rioter shot by a law enforcement officer — died as a result of the Capitol riot on January 6, which Smith said Tuesday was the result of Trump’s claims about the election. But Democrats have blamed Trump for the unrelated deaths of several protesters and Capitol Police officers.

No, we would all lose.
“Remember this next time dims try to move against the Second Amendment.”
If one deprived unarmed homeowner dies the whole state legislature and the governor are legally subject to execution.
And if they are of the State of New York, any statute of limitation may be waived.

Dont equate country with government.
Re: 62 - knock off the talk about execution like that on FR. You’ll get the site into trouble.
>You know... I noticed the same thing. He looked scared or nervous. Kinda odd.
I think even he’s not on board with these charges but with the Florida documents one faltering, there’s really no reason to be the patsy when SCOTUS slaps him down again. I honestly think the case is so antithetical to the constitution that Chutkan will find a way to spike it.
Reference 65... don’t worry. He thinks he still gives orders, like he did back on active duty. LOL
The United States federal government needs the death penalty.
“Good test for DeSantis - let’s see if a potential Death Penalty against Trump bothers him.”
WTFreak
This story has nothing at all to do with DeSantis. Your RDDS is showing. Some of you guys are ever bit as bad as the Bidenites who make everything about Trump.
Isn’t that something? Nothing happens to the guy who killed a woman in cold blood while the guy who called for a peaceful protest - Trump - faces the death penalty. This government is as effed up as it gets and Republicans can absolutely go to hell for allowing this crap to continue.
Secret Service has already weighed in - they would send agents in to continue to provide protection to Trump (against assassins and whatnot) from inside prison.
To the left, it’s now conspiracy to consult an attorney in furtherance of any effort the left does not agree with.
I feel like I’m in a nightmare.
Thanks SoCon, and I only commented on this because DeSantis has already piled-on regarding this indictment for this FBI-led riot.
I just got a PM about my post 2 from someone who didn’t know it was a joke and thought that it was a serious post about Nixon’s reason for not challenging the 1960 election.
In case there are others thinking it was a serious post, it wasn’t, I thought the article headline made the wise crack about the 1960 election and Nixon an obvious chuckle-worthy joke.
RE: No wonder Nixon didn’t challenge the 1960 election.
In one interview many years later Nixon was asked if the crucial Illinois ballots counted in Mayor Daley’s Chicago that somehow went against him with information from people that boxes of GOP area ballots were dumped into the river should have caused him to protest the ballot count and thus win the country.
He said “I can’t feel sorry for what happened. I lost. Had I won it might have turned out I would have been the one assassinated.”
That gives sidesplitting laughter to the Dems when they hear it.
I’m kinda thick as the brits would say, and EVEN I picked up on that joke.
Closing off the losing side (ours) to all rights and opportunities will only build up a scorching heat of resentment.
Not that I agree with every golden word he spoke but this one quote was right——
Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.
