Damn straight.

Yet still there are FReepers today that defend throwing their vote away giving Clinton the win.

“giving Clinton the win”

LOL. Senor Bush gave Clinton the win when he broke his promise to the voters.

Everything else is just excuses by people who don’t want to put the blame where it is most deserved.

Heck, there are Freepers today, who swear they won’t vote for the GOP, if Trump isn’t the nominee. And if they actually do that, this would hand the election to Biden.

I might feel differently about some issues today that Perot ran on than I did thirty years ago but Perot exposed so much about the parties and so called free trade that still resonate we should feel fortunate Bush 41 lost.

Without Perot there’s likely still no Republican majority in congress, no Tea Party and no Trump. He stirred the pot even if he played spoiler and wasn’t serious about running. Perot was absolutely wrong about electronic voting for example.

Trump represents an overdue correction where the political class are on notice that they thrive on the consent of the governed and there’s more to America than the beltway social club, north east elites and California leftism.

As much as I’m unsure Trump really wants another term or can win, chaotic campaigner DeSantis isn’t the solution. He doesn’t understand why Trump prevailed over Hillary and why so many are hell bent at destroying someone who governed America through global peace and prosperity.

He’s talking about woke and things like an old school social conservative and he’s not connecting. I don’t want to live in a United States of Florida. I’m not much of an Erick Erickson fan but he’s right that DeSantis needs to talk kitchen table issues and connect those to social policy. He’s also right that DeSantis is a lousy retail campaigner.

DeSantis can’t win by alienating the Trump base and cannot win them over by trying to be a pale imitation. Vivek has a better strategy in reaching out rather than attacking Trump voters but we see he’s playing a game too wanting USA back in bad global trade agreements.

There’s a lot of imitation Trump and attacking Trump without a viable plan for America. Too many of those running are only there to stop Trump and not succeed him at the next GOP president and move America First forward.

I do not know how 2024 will go but I know I don’t like it. Trump has to want to win, has to have a vision, has to be disciplined and be running for something not just for revenge. As much as his presidency deserves to be avenged after the Russia hoax and all the nonsense, attacks and sabotage that’s a sorry reason to vote for someone.

DeSantis is embarrassing himself and it’s too late to pivot. Dems are better positioned than the Republicans for 2024 and we know Newsom is their future.
