The annual cost of New York’s public health insurance for the needy is set to shatter $100 billion for the first time — and the unrelenting migrant crisis could soon trigger even more of a spike, documents show.
The state’s Medicaid program currently enrolls 7.8 million residents, with the staggering price tag for 2023-24 set at $108 billion, according to New York budget estimates.
That’s nearly $10 billion more than last fiscal year’s $99 million budget.
And beginning in January, the program will start providing medical coverage to an estimated 25,000 undocumented immigrants age 65 and over who are ineligible for Medicare, the federal health insurance program for senior citizens — at an estimated cost of $171.million.

New York State’s population was 19.6 m as of July ‘22. Sum Ting Wong when nearly 40% of the population is on Medicaid. What a hellhole.
I suspect that these programs will simply not reimburse medical professionals in line with inflation. That would save money. It would also cause more and more doctors to opt out of the programs.
No one can run a business at a loss.

And God help you if miss a payment.
You can print more money. But you can't print more qualified doctors or high-tech medical equipment or hospitals.
I foresee increasing health care shortages, rationing and waiting lines for those who rely on Medicaid, Medicare, or insurance.
Prices will increase, so that only the very wealthy will be able to afford immediate, first rate health care.
Socialism can actually work in a homogeneous, moral, high trust, high intelligence society (e.g., Sweden, Ireland, Israel). Of course, Sweden and Ireland are losing their homogeneous character, partially due to globalist pressure to not be "racist" and open their doors.
- Even if you pay physicians and other health care workers nothing, health care expenses will still go up and you will still outstrip the public money supply.
- If you don't have to pay anything to have your car repaired you won't care so much about preventative maintenance. Same principle in health care.
- If you made Dom Perignon free to everyone, and forced the champagne maker to produce more bottles per year and at a lower price, Dom Perignon would stop being Dom Perignon. Such is what will happen to the quality of health care as a consequence of pushing up volume and workload at the same time you are cutting what you pay per patient.
Of course you’re right because it’s already happening. Try getting a medical appointment for almost anything, it’s a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks or more to actually get in. It wasn’t always like that, but you know, Obamacare fixed everything.

What a joke we have become… importing homeless invaders into our nation. I guess our country doesn’t have enough homeless. We got to add thousands more to our already crowded streets and a burden to the American people. Next come the riots and the break-ins …it’s going to get bad people. Desperate people do stupid things, and these people came all the way from Africa etc to sleep and starve on sidewalks? I think not! They were expecting streets paved with gold and money falling out of the windows. Expect them to start creating gangs, etc. etc. selling drugs by the bus load, etc. The crime committed by those invaders is going to be astronomical. We won’t be able to control it.
