Russia's Medvedev: We'd Have to Use a Nuclear Weapon if Ukrainian Offensive Was a Success

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, who has sometimes raised the spectre of a nuclear conflict over Ukraine, said on Sunday that Moscow would have to use a nuclear weapon if Kyiv's ongoing counter-offensive was a success.

Medvedev, who is deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council, a body chaired by President Vladimir Putin, said in a message on his official social media accounts that Russia would be forced to fall back on its own nuclear doctrine in such a scenario.

"Imagine if the.. offensive, which is backed by NATO, was a success and they tore off a part of our land then we would be forced to use a nuclear weapon according to the rules of a decree from the president of Russia.

"There would simply be no other option. So our enemies should pray for our warriors' (success). They are making sure that a global nuclear fire is not ignited," he said.

“Only in response to a nuclear attack by The Biden. You must know this?”

But, of course, that is not what he said. He said nothing about a nuclear attack by “the Biden.” He just said “if the Ukrainian offensive was a success.”

But, Jon; as the proverbial liar you are, you casually glance past that.

Well, no worries then.

“khrushchev illegally gave Crimea to Ukraine in the 1950’s...”

Then why didn’t the Politburo condemn it and stop it? Because, in the Soviet system, it was not illegal.

“Literally nobody ever denied that Russia was the primary parent nation in the USSR, nobody”

You may want to remind some of the pro-Russia FReepers of that.

“The US threatened to bomb Cuba for hosting Soviet weapons so why can’t Russia attack Ukraine for hosting hostile weapons as well?”

Nice try, kid.

The US threatened to take out Russian OFFENSIVE nuclear weapons in Cuba, which posed an immediate and direct threat to the mainland US. We had no problem with Russia putting in DEFENSIVE weapons.

Sorry but the USA showed the world with Iraq that it’s ok to attack and destroy a country if you think it’s a threat to you. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

The Russian apologists in the USA wanted President Reagan to appease Moscow, too saying he would start WW3. Different decade, same nonsense from the Reds and their groupies.

And you neocons hated Reagan for pulling troops out of Lebanon and for his major arms reductions with Gorbachev

And the Hawks didn’t even want Reagan to meet Gorby at Reykjavik.

Had the US lived up to it’s word and not planned putting short range missiles in Ukraine....

Had NATO not encroached all the way to the Russian boarder.

Had Ukraine remained neutral, period.

I don’t know what Dmitry Medvedev really thinks, but it’s not a good idea to start throwing thermonuclear weapons around.

It’s bad for climate change.

If you want to defund Russia, start pumping US oil again.

Increasing US energy production is precisely the last thing that Russian Kremlin loving Democrats and the WEF EU want. The globalists desperately want Ukrainians to surrender their sovereignty ASAP so they can return to business as almost usual with Putin’s Russia. The first orders of business there is supplying Europe with Russian energy again and partnering with Putin to remove President Trump’s excellent Iran policy. Policies that are fundamentally anti American and anti conservative.

President Reagan killed the Soviet Union and the Russophiles are still angry about it.

Are you making a distinction between 1991 and 2003? Or, are you just making a blanket condemnation?

Make yourself clear.

It wouldn’t be a Sunday without an impotent nuclear threat from Russia.

I wonder, when Medvedev goes to a restaurant and orders the borscht does he threaten to use nukes if he doesn’t get any sour cream with it?
