In winter incandescent bulbs provide heat as efficiently as base board electric heat.
How we heat and light our homes is none of the government’s business.
I despise the other light bulbs and the color spectrum emitted is detrimental to your health!! And why us a highly accurate mercury thermometer that could last years if careful NOT ok, but multiple light bulbs containing mercury tossed in landfills is??? No logical reason other than these bastards say so! The new light bulbs also mess up appearance of your decorating color scheme. Going to go stock up now!!
Illegal- really? This country is insane ridiculously beyond the pale insane
Again?
Me too. I can’t understand people that want government interfering every friggin aspect of their life!!
So what? They just get dumped in the garbage? Can you tell I am hopping mad about this?? 😡
Change your leaders, not your light bulbs.
I’ve been replacing incandescents with LEDs for years. The lights we use every day are now all LED, and I haven’t replaced a bulb in a long time.
Only problem I’ve had is with some cheap WalMart generics that started flickering not long after installation. Probably made in PPOTUS’ (Potted Plant of the US) favorite country so poor quality.
LEDs are brighter, cooler, last longer and cost less to operate than incandescents. I don’t miss the old bulbs. Don’t agree with a government dictated ban - they have no right to dictate what light bulb I use - but the market would kill them off eventually anyway.
I like LEDs and have been using them for up to 10 years for lamps and flashlights. Bulbs since 2016 from my Amazon history. I can have one lamp with a LED that can change colors of the spectrum and far cooler then the older bulbs and use far less energy. I have only had 2 bulbs stop working after years of use while others became dimmer. Most have no issues. The old bulbs would have some go out every month and usually with a SNAP! BANG! noise.
I get 100 watt equivalent A19 bulbs and 150 watt equivalent A21 bulbs.
I also have several portable lights for car and home repair. LED strips for under cabinet lighting.

I like 5,000K daylight bulbs. I have floor lamps with a splitter so I can have 2 bulbs with each a 150 watt equivalent but only using 23 watts a piece. My place does not heat up in the summer as the LEDs are far cooler.
I have a table lamp that has 4 colors and are dimmable as well.

Amazon has a big selection. Also look over the many lamps.
Both fit the standard light socket.

“The government announced a ban on the manufacturing and selling of incandescent bulbs, saying it will help Americans save money”
I do wish the government would stop promising us that their freedom crushing regulations are going to save us money. We can’t afford it anymore.
