The real problem is not that doctor give worse care to a certain minority group because they are ignorant of the conditions that impact that certain community more. Doctors these days are VERY well trained about all of that stuff. It’s that the patients have been taught by their own community and the media to hate whitey and thus are less willing to open up to a white doctor.
The solution to that is NOT affirmative action...
I’ll say, in the interest of full disclosure, that my primary care doctor is black, and I LOVE him as my doctor. He listens, is attentive and fields my questions thoughtfully.
I have no doubt that that he was a highly qualified candidate for med school.
If you go to a doc you are apparently doing so ‘cause you have a concern that just might threaten your life. If you then don’t open up ‘cause some idiot in your life taught you hatred and racism, you are gonna die.
Good riddance.
