I’ll say, in the interest of full disclosure, that my primary care doctor is black, and I LOVE him as my doctor. He listens, is attentive and fields my questions thoughtfully.
I have no doubt that that he was a highly qualified candidate for med school.
I’m opposed to affirmative action because it’s racist, unfair, and can lead to unqualified people in positions they don’t belong in. There are good minority doctors out there, no question.
But the idea that we need AA because, otherwise, the care of such patients will decline.. well, there’s better solutions for that. And it’s not for the reasons they claim it is.
