Hunter Biden's plea deal has fallen apart, according to federal prosecutors and the defense. President Joe Biden's son had been expected to plead guilty to two tax misdemeanors for not paying federal taxes on time as part of a plea agreement with the Justice Department.

Hunter Biden failed to pay between $1.1 million and $1.5 million in taxes before the legal deadlines, prosecutors said in court. They had been recommending a sentence of probation as part of the plea deal.

The Trump-appointed judge overseeing today's hearing has the sole authority to decide his punishment.

U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika pressed both sides to come to an agreement and called for a 10-minute recess.

Her suggestion came after Rep. Jason Smith, R-Mo., the chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, urged Noreika to reject the plea deal based on the allegations from two Internal Revenue Service investigators of political favoritism in the case.

Direct torpedo hit on the Biden piracy flotilla, taking out one of the flanking support vessels.

Hunter MIGHT be sunk. But he has some really fantastic survival skills. Expect an amazing rescue in the face of all adversity.

Joe Biden feels the walls closing in and falling upon him. The irony is when the dust settles and Joe is covered with debris, Hunter will still be standing and simply will walk on by drugged and dusty but no worse for wear.

Yes, looks like NBC is saying it’s just in “jeopardy” because Hunter’s lawyers want the plea to cover any (hypothetical?) future prosecutions and not only the charges that have already been filed.

So I guess they want blanket immunity? Even for crimes he may have committed that the prosecutors may not be aware of yet?

I may be crazy, but I’m pretty sure (under normal circumstances) to get a deal like that you need to be 100% forthcoming and actually confess ALL of your crimes, and agree to be a cooperating witness in the prosecution of your co-conspirators. None of which Hunter has done.

Just the gun charge! No reconsideration in the subsequent revelations of Shapley’s testimony, and the REAL smoking gun in the FD-1023.

Martha Stewart to Hunter, huh?

After a highly publicized 2004 six-week jury trial, Stewart was found
<><>guilty of felony charges of conspiracy to obstruct,
<><>guilty of obstruction of an agency proceeding,
<><>of making false statements to federal investigators
<><>sentenced to a five-month term in a federal correctional facility
<><>had a two-year period of supervised release
<><> five months of electronic monitoring.
<><>paid a fine of $30,000.

In August 2006, the SEC announced that it had agreed to settle the related civil case against Stewart. Under the settlement, Stewart agreed to
<><>disgorge $58,062 (including interest from the losses she avoided),
<><>a civil penalty of three times the loss avoided, or $137,019.
<><>a five-year ban from serving as a director, CEO, CFO, or any other officer role responsible for preparing, auditing, or disclosing financial results of any public company..

In June 2008, the UK Border Agency refused to grant her a visa to enter the United Kingdom because of her criminal conviction for obstructing justice. She had been planning to speak at the Royal Academy on fashion and leisure industry matters.

BTW, Martha sold stock using inside info....something Pelosi has done for years.ot describe the situation.”

U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika pressed both sides to come to an agreement and called for a 10-minute recess.

Problem is that the prosecution and defense are on the same side (i.e. protect the Biden’s) and the judge is a Democrat. However, when the judge asked whether Hunter was still under investigation by the DOJ, the prosecution said yes but would not give any details. That statement alone may give the judge pause - why would she approve a sweetheart deal that would drag her into the toilet bowl along with the Biden’s? Her reputation in small state Delaware is at stake. As of right now, that question has not been answered.

Apparently, the judge asked the federal prosecutor if this plea deal would prevent little Hunter from being prosecuted on any pending FARA charges. The prosecutor responded "No" and Hunter's attorneys responded by saying the deal was "null and void."

Hunter's attorneys must have thought they had assurance from the DOJ that he was being given immunity from any upcoming prosecutions with this plea deal.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. The DOJ is starting to feel the heat/
