Nearly 5,000 Afghan migrants have been deported within 24 hours through the Milak border crossing in Sistan and Baluchistan province.
According to an Iranian border commander, 4,767 “illegal” Afghan immigrants have reportedly been sent back to Afghanistan at the Milak border crossing in the province of Sistan and Baluchistan in the past 24 hours.
Immigration officials cited “illegal entry, stay, and passport expiration” as the main reasons for deporting the migrants.
According to Parviz Ghasemzada, Iran’s border commander for the area, Foreigners must enter, remain and leave Iran legally, Tasnim News Agency reported.
He warned that anyone trying to enter Iran illegally would be turned over to the authorities and deported from the country.
He added, “Combating the illegal residence of unauthorized foreigners in Sistan and Baluchistan is seriously on the agenda.”
Khorasan Razavi, general director of Iran’s foreign national and immigrant affairs, reportedly said that more than 90,000 Afghans had returned home over the Dogharun Taybad border this year.
Since the return of the Taliban in August 2021, around 3.6 million Afghans left their country, with 70 per cent of them travelling to Iran.
Most migrants leave the country due to prosecution, lack of job opportunities, economic crisis, and security threats.
Which country took them in - Germany? Austria? Australia? or the U.S.?
Shame we can’t do the same to about 100k of them
How about the seven million illegals Biden has happily let in since 2021.
Better yet, WE should be able to deport every single illegal alien in OUR country!
Their training was complete.
That’s all.
How many did the US ship back?
I wonder if they deported the Pashto speakers only, but let the Dari variety stay.
Coming soon to our border.
Who tries to be a refugee TO Iran? These guys are really dumb or desperate.
Well, if you’ve never been to Afghanistan it might be hard to imagine that someone would want to go to Iran.
Then again, these 5000 could have been folks trying to run from the Taliban for one reason or another and Iran has had enough of their 3rd century BS.
