Putin achieved Ukraine 'red line,' now aims to create 'as much suffering as possible' with grain strikes

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has hit a slow-burn phase after nearly 18 months of intense fighting, focusing primarily on Kyiv’s counteroffensive and Moscow’s efforts to hold their gains after ensuring Ukraine will not be able to join NATO.

"The Russian offensive is grinding on a low-intensity pace as the Russians are focused primarily on holding on to the territory they’ve captured and thwarting [the] Ukrainian counteroffensive, which has not produced much gain for Kyiv," Rebekah Koffler, president of Doctrine & Strategy Consulting and a former Defense Intelligence Agency officer, told Fox News Digital.

"Putin is unlikely to push for any new major gains, as his objective in Ukraine is largely achieved," she explained. "Russia controls roughly about 20 percent of Ukraine and the conflict has turned into a protracted war."

Now the EU sending weapons to kill Russian soldiers will have to find grain elsewhere.

Add in the cluster bombs that the US assured everyone would be used responsibly by Ukraine, and have been dropped on residential areas in Russia and on a journalist camp...

Works for me.

Putin is working on ways to send Russian grain to Africa.

Yep, no more European middlemen doubling the price of grain and gouging the Africans for everything they've got, while preventing Russia from shipping grain to Africa for Free.

He has to say that, if he doesn't, Zelensky won't let him come to Ukraine to service him.

“doubling the price of grain and gouging the Africans”

AKA the LIBERAL WORLD ORDER that American taxes and Ukrainian blood is being wasted on to defend. Goes along with:

doubling the price of NG and gouging the Europeans
doubling the price of gasoline and gouging the Americans
doubling the price of rice and gouging the Orientals

et cetera, et cetera, et cetera...

“And what are we trying to do to Russia?”

Oh for those halcyon days in the 1980’s when Russia was trapped in a quagmire in Afghanistan. Dream dream. And then Obama gleefully told us when Russia sent assistance to Assad - they will end up in Syria in a quagmire, just like Afghanistan. Dream on.

“The 1980’s are crying for their foreign policy back.” (Obama was being sarcastic, in attacking Romney, but this time it’s true.)

There you have identified the Root Cause of the conflict.

❗The Russian Ministry of Defense reports that on July 22, around 12:00, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched an artillery strike on a group of journalists from the RIA Novosti news agency and the Izvestiya information center, who were preparing materials about the artillery shelling of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with cluster munitions of settlements in the Zaporozhye region.

As a result of the strike of the Ukrainian Armed Forces with cluster munitions, four journalists were injured of varying severity.

They were promptly evacuated to field medical facilities of the Russian Defense Ministry, where they receive qualified medical care.

The guardian has this.

🇬🇧 The Guardian: Moscow blamed the West
“Russia has criticized the United States in connection with the death of a war correspondent as a result of the use of cluster bombs near the front line in the southeastern Zaporozhye region of Ukraine. The Russian Foreign Ministry said: “Everything indicates that the attack on a group of journalists was not accidental. Competent international organizations prefer, as before in such cases, to turn a blind eye to this monstrous crime. Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Dmitry Polyansky tweeted: “U.S.-supplied cluster munitions are killing journalists in Ukraine.

It's interesting to seek some additional information about someone quoted in the news.

Of this individual's company, one finds:

Doctrine & Strategy Consulting
1933 Hull Rd
Vienna, VA 22182-3716

Year Founded: 2017
Sales Range: $1,000,000 to $4,999,999
Employees: 1 to 5

Source: https://start.cortera.com/company/research/m1l5qwn2s/doctrine--strategy-consulting-llc/

Why this is interesting to me is because the address is shown by the various realty sites to be a private hime in Vienna, Virginia. Given the "1 to 5" employees mentioned above, this comports with someone running a business and website from their own home, as do I with two sites.

Of the speaker quoted, one learns from her own account page:

LinkedIn ---Rebekah Koffler
Deliver Intelligence on Russia/Putin. Ex-DIA. Author of 'Putin's Playbook.' Writer. National Security Analyst. Podcaster. @FoxNews @nypost @WSJ @newsweek @thehill

"Rebekah Koffler is a Russian-English bi-lingual U.S. intelligence expert and Author of 'Putin's Playbook: Russia's Secret Plan to Defeat America'. She is a freelance writer, national security analyst, and podcaster. Rebekah's unclassified intelligence analysis and opinion articles are published in The Wall Street Journal, The Hill, Newsweek, The New York Post, The Washington Times, and on the Fox News website. She has appeared on the Fox News Channel, Fox Business, and internationally - on British, Indian, Romanian, Japanese, and Australian TV networks. She regularly appears on the WMAL radio, the Fox News Rundown podcast, and many other podcasts.

"In her previous career, serving in US government, Rebekah was a senior intelligence official focusing on detecting and helping neutralize foreign threats to America. Working for the Defense Intelligence Agency and with the CIA National Clandestine Service, Rebekah has led 'red' teams during war games and briefed the Pentagon, the White House, and NATO on Russian wartime doctrine and President Putin's intentions. In Putin's Playbook, published in July 2021, Rebekah predicted Russia's invasion of Ukraine that was launched by Vladimir Putin in February 2024. The war is unfolding, consistent with Rebekah's forward-looking intelligence estimates and Russia's doctrine and strategy described in her book."

"To book Rebekah as a guest on your show, contact her by email at rk@rebekahkoffler.com."

To me then, this seems quite like that sort of "product placement" which is found in media -- news, as in film and television -- in which a source is simply expected by an audience to be credible and without challenge.

A quote from the article: " 'His goal is to turn Ukraine into a dysfunctional state, unable to feed its people and to export its grains,' Koffler said."

Heard the same opinion from many others sources, so this particular Doctrine & Strategy Consulting with between "1 to 6" employees, according the above, seems generic.

But if any of us would like to book here for a speech, she herself writes, "To book Rebekah as a guest on your show, contact her by email at rk@rebekahkoffler.com."

Sounds like promotion and "product placement" to me.
