I noticed there was no mention of the free trade deals that sent our manufacturing, our technology, and our money to the Chicoms. We chose cheap labor over our own children and Veterans. We funded China's infrastructure and military build up, then borrowed our consumer dollars from them to pay for ours. Those of us who were against this were called protectionists and isolationists.

Now we have a major homeless and suicide problem among our Vets, and our kids can't even find work in the fields they trained in because we've either outsourced them or imported cheap labor.

And all of this was for the promise of cheaper products which were supposed to benefit the consumers. So where are the cheaper prices we were promised?

It's no surprise that this, which was engineered by Conservatives with help from Bill Clinton, was left out of the op-ed's narrative. We can't blame the left for what "we" did. The fact that Bill Clinton was all in for this should have told us something, but all we could see was new, hi tech TVs every year to watch those NFL games we're supposedly boycotting.

It isn't just the left that deserves the blame for this.
