"We’ve organized, strategized, now it’s time to pulverize."
Why I hate unions. They are so 1800s
I did. 1996-2000.
Never open your mouth until you know what the shot is.
For what is produced the pay is extremely excessive.
There are many people who would do it for half. The union prevents that from happening and you pay the cost for that.
I live on a rural corner.
Parcels here are about 5 ACRES.
I am fully perimeter fenced.
I have my main gate near the eastern property edge-—about 140’ from actual corner.
I have a gate I use for hay deliveries, etc., on the eastern property side-—100’ + from the corner of the property.
Packages come addressed to my northern property side address.
There is NO ADDRESS for the eastern side.
MULTIPLE times UPS has dropped packages over the chained gate on the eastern side. I FINALLY caught the driver IN THE ACT-—and questioned him about the address on the package.
He was entirely 90 degrees off & totally wrong to be using that gate as a drop. I told him off.
IT ISN’T
If unions could not use violence and sabotage, then a strike would just be a mass resignation. See Pres Reagan and the air traffic control strike.
There’s an awfully lot of impending labor actions being talked about here lately.
The Writer Guild, the Screen Actors Guild, Teamsters-UPS, and the UAW are all either currently on strike or threatening work stoppages.
All of these organizations are BIG Democrat Party allies. As such, you have to suspect the federal government will tilt the scales in their favor eventually.
We’ll see.
True, but UPS is unionized and even in right to work states, I’m sure UPS pays the same. My neighbor across the street has a son working part time at UPS, he’s a member of the Teamsters Union and they have cadillac benefits, even for part time workers.
You get paid what someone else is willing to pay, UPS is making record profits even at the current pay rates, as I said, virtually no employee would turn down a raise especially when the company is making record profits.
Bonus round more inflation.
“UPS pilots vow to not cross strike picket lines”
That factor will impact the pace of negotiations.
Note to the rank and file: Use your heads for more than a hat rack. Decertify your union before it’s too late.
Then once UPS gets their deal, then it’s the FedEx folks’ turn, and so on, and so on...
The Unions could have been useful if they galvanized to oppose letting in millions of illegals who put downward pressure on wages...but nooooooo!
“Then once UPS gets their deal, then it’s the FedEx folks’ turn, and so on, and so on...”
It does not appear that a large percent of FedEx workers are unionized.
Don’t worry—any fake Democrat ballots will be delivered on time and in excellent condition.
:-(
Ultimatums can easily blow up in your face.
There was a Peterbilt truck plant in Nashville for years. They built the big rig tractors. The plant was unionized. Union workers wanted more money. They went on strike. The company closed the plant. All the jobs disappeared.
The work is not equal to the pay. They could hire more people and be more efficient and make more profits without the union.
We all pay more to subsidize the union.
I work for UPS. There will be no strike. The last two contracts went beyond the deadline and we continued to work through. We received checks for back pay till the contracted was ratified. Union members are also not as united to strike as this article makes it sound. The talk is that the part time wages issue is related to getting Amazon to unionize. No one is happy about O’Brian using our contract as ploy to get Amazon workers. I spent most of my career as a part timer (I worked and made as much or more than full timers) The only reason I went full time was that the Hoffa gang sold us out last time by creating a cheaper driver position. Part timers are doing fine. I say that from experience.
