An investigation is underway after a man died while being detained by officers in north Phoenix on Thursday. Around 2 p.m., officers were called out to check on a man at a shopping plaza near 19th Avenue and Union Hills Drive. Police arrived and tried to talk to the man, but he began to walk away from them. Police say that officers continued watching the man and saw him fall into a landscaping wall.
Officers detained the man and called Phoenix firefighters for assistance. Just before fire crews got to the scene, the man suddenly became unresponsive, police said. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
The medical examiner’s office will determine an official cause of death for the man, who hasn’t been identified. It’s unclear if injuries from the fall contributed to his death.
Heat stroke?
Either drugs or heat or both.
Hope he wasn’t black. Can’t go through that again.
Similar thing happened the other day somewhere else - of course the rumor was police choked him, etc. In fact he swallowed his dope and died doing what he loved.
Fentanyl.
What do you have against “free” booze, sneakers, and flatscreen TVs?
Does he have a name or, is it “the man”? Which leads me to believe he’s illegal..possibly a drug smuggler.
lots of homeless people in that area.
What I was thinking.
Do I really need a sarchasm tag?
Or maybe it was the vax...
“Heat stroke?”
My first thought as well.
If Phoenix police arrived but didn’t make the guy immortal, the deceased “family” (who haven’t seen or spoken to him in a decade) will be entitled to $5 million in damages from the city. I’d put up the sarcasm tag, but I’m not sure.
Hope he wasnt a black tranny.
Deceptive, misleading headline. The guy was already clearly having Health issues before the police arrived.
CC
Cops must have vaxxed him
Vax?
