Michael Cohen, the onetime personal lawyer and fixer for Donald Trump, has settled his lawsuit accusing the Trump Organization of failing to cover millions of dollars of legal bills he incurred over his work for the former U.S. president.
Lawyers for both sides disclosed the settlement at a hearing in a New York state court in Manhattan on Friday, three days before a trial was scheduled to begin.
Terms of the settlement were not made public. Cohen and a lawyer for the Trump Organization issued statements that the matter "has been resolved in a manner satisfactory to all parties."
Once a strong supporter of Trump, Cohen is now a vocal critic, whose 2020 memoir "Disloyal" was a New York Times bestseller.
He claimed that the Trump Organization reneged on its agreement to paying his bills after he began cooperating with several probes into his work for the former president.
Cohen originally sued in March 2019 to recoup $1.9 million in fees, plus $1.9 million he was ordered to forfeit in a criminal case. The fees kept growing, and the Trump Organization has paid some of them, court papers show.
Despite Friday's settlement, Cohen is expected to be a star prosecution witness against Trump in a criminal trial next March.
That case concerns payments Cohen made, and which Trump reimbursed, to porn star Stormy Daniels to keep her quiet prior to the 2016 presidential election about her alleged affair with Trump

One of many pos types around.
Million$ ?
Cohen seems to be a small time sleazeball.
I used to think that Trump had all sorts of quality experience with the civil courts and NYC liewahs.
Turns out that Trump’s skillz with liewahs are weak. Too bad for both Trump and America.
| How strong are yowahs?
Oh, I try to stay a LONG way away from any part of the Legal System and especially NYC, in general.
Another of Trumps not-great hirings
Convicted felon makes a good witness in court case?
How quaint.
Trump only hires the best. He said that adnauseam.
“Trump only hires the best. He said that adnauseam.”
Oh get off it. How many employers all over the globe over all time in history have hired employees thinking by their background that they will be a wonderful worker and it turns out that they suck. And thus are fired. It happens every single day all over the world. No one ever knows for sure if they have hired a lemon or not. It depends on the weaknesses or strengths of their character.
Trump hired lots of wonderful workers. Others like Bob Barr, not so much. Because he was weak in the crunch and it is not something that one can foresee in some magic 8 ball. Trump had never been a politician, was totally new to Wash. D.C. and had to rely on the expertise of others to make employment choices. And there were many jobs to fill. You don’t bat 100 percent. Chris Christie highly recommended Bob Barr to Trump. Barr had weak character and so does Chris Christie.
The vast majority worked out; some didn’t, like Jeff Sessions. You cannot see moral weakness or laziness on the pages of a resume; you find out after the fact. I’m so sick of you moral high horse sorts that think each person hired will end up a perfect one. Hiring and then having to fire lousy or weak workers are a fact of life that ALL of us have had to deal with in our working life. My guess is that there are certain losers and lousy employees even on this very website even if they would never admit it. But most were/are good ones. You hope for the best when hiring and I had to make those hiring choices in my own career. Only had to can a couple of them thank goodness.
Trump hired many more excellent workers than ones that went bad. Another meme that annoys the heck out of me is that Trump made bad choices in endorsing candidates that lost in the mid-terms when the stats show just the opposite; the vast majority of his endorsement choices won their elections. Certain ones in iffy states lost. Life’s a crap shoot.
Cohen will be lucky to get a buck fitty.
