In truth, other than ceasefire, there is little for Ukraine to concede, since Russia are already in possession of most of the territory that they initially sought to conquer.

Elon Musk predicted many months ago, the war will eventually end, along these lines:

Ukraine-Russia Peace:

- Redo elections of annexed regions under UN supervision. Russia leaves if that is will of the people.

- Crimea formally part of Russia, as it has been since 1783 (until Khrushchev’s mistake).

- Water supply to Crimea assured.

- Ukraine remains neutral.

And who is next from a victorious Russia? Moldova, Georgia, the Balkans?

I agree with your scenario the only thing is Zelensky probably has to go, Russia is aware that Ukraine will probably start a guerilla war after any peace deal just annoy and bleed Russia.

I think the borders were deliberately drawn this way by the Soviets to stir up this kind of trouble if they lost power, a final parting legacy.

That’s a reasonable solution, so our Neocons will see that won’t happen.
More white people need to die, because it’s good for the economy.

Just ask Yellen and crew…

Given this:

"According to former German Chancellor Angela Merkel, the Minsk agreement served to buy time to rearm Ukraine. “The 2014 Minsk agreement was an attempt to give Ukraine time,” Merkel told the weekly Die Zeit. “It also used this time to become stronger, as you can see today.”"

How is one to be assured the ceasefire terms as you laid out would be honored. One would think it would carry no more weight than a "Palestinian peace".

Have the Democrats made the case to send chemical weapons yet? I assume after cluster bombs that chemical weapons are next-gen on the list to send.

The Minsk Agreement, which we squashed and never intended to allow Ukraine to follow through on, is looking like a sweetheart deal for Ukraine.

Russian imperialists don’t want Odesa and Zaporizhzhia? You really believe that? Why the reluctance to admit Putin can be defeated? How soon we memory hole the fact that Russia’s own army was shooting Russian aircraft out of Russian skies just weeks ago.

The sooner Ukraine surrenders, the sooner we can stop pouring money into it and get down to shedding light on the democrat corruption taking place over there.

“Redo elections of annexed regions under UN supervision. Russia leaves if that is will of the people.”

Russia would never agree to that.

“Ukraine remains neutral.”

Ukraine would never agree to that.

So the fighting continues I guess.

“… three options have been on the table for how this war would end:... victory for one side or the other, a frozen conflict or a negotiated settlement.”

That is four possibilities: victory for one side, victory for the other, a negotiated settlement or a frozen conflict. They aren’t actually options either. Option implies choice.

No. The time for that was early on when the US and NATO could have still bargained from a position of strength.

Russia doesn't have to agree to anything at this point. They'll be spending time fortifying gains and letting thousands of PMCs rest and train north of Kiev. If Zel, the US and NATO want to dump more into the meat grinder, that's on them. They shot their load and nothing has worked.

Seems the strategy is to suck the west dry, and it's working. There is no reason for the Russians to make ANY concessions. Would not be surprised to see them go for Odessa.

How many wars has the USA won in your own lifetime?
That is a question we EACH need to consider.
Viet Nam?
Korea?
Afghanistan?
Taliban?
War on Terror?
On Poverty?
On Drugs?
The wars where USA has done the most damage to the USA include:
War on unborn children.
War on women.
Am I wrong?

Blinken has said Ukraine will become a member of NATO, presumably when this war ends, one way or the other.

That will freeze the border between Russia and Ukraine, because any further attack by Russia will be an attack NATO.
