I don’t live in Iowa, but if I did, I would not answer surveys.

The title says it’s:

74.5% are for Pres Trump

11.7% are for DeSantis

Then it’s:

Overall, nearly 2/3 of Trump supporters in Iowa say they’re not persuadable, while about a 1/4 of DeSantis supporters say the same.

How does one get 25% from 11.7%?

Difference is caucus people vs voters.

If you go to the data link and hit crosstabs, all the polling data is there

Richard Baris was reporting data from an Iowa poll

The Hawkeye State Battleground Poll interviewed 1057 likely voters from July 9 - July 12, 2023, to include 478 likely Republican caucus-goers. The overall sampling error is ± 3.0% at a 95% confidence interval and ± 4.5% at a 95% confidence interval for Republican caucus-goers. Results were weighted for gender, age, race and ethnicity, education, and region. It’s important to note sampling errors for subgroups are higher.

shouldn’t this be news?

It is very awkwardly worded while actually discussing multiple data sets.

Of the caucus goers who say they have decided and will not ever change their minds, 74.5% are for Trump and 11.7% are for DeSantis. That is but one subset of the overall data.

Of the overall number who currently say they are for one candidate or another, 2/3 of the Trump supporters are not persuadable, while 1/4 of the DeSantis supporters are not persuadable. So that 74.5% is out of that 2/3 of overall current Trump supporters, and 11.7% is out of that 1/4 of DeSantis supporters.

Then they list another subset of data stating who the unpersuadables are in the overall data set.

It’s eight months away! Trump has been recently bashing the Iowa governor, but don’t let that stop you. People change their minds.

Wonder how many voters are going to say it’s Chris Christie or I’m sitting 2024 out?

DeSantis has no path to victory, no more than Vivek Ramaswamy does.

Better coalesce behind President Trump or vote Biden again, NeverTrumpers.

Has DeSantis ever uttered any of these words: cabal, Deep State, Stolen?

It’s a impossible hypothetical, but if DeSoros happened to win the nom, and Trump was deposed in some way, I’d vote DeSoros - but my thinking would be to have to mount a fight for another day.

"Sounds a lot like only Trumper FReepers."

If Trump was allowed to have the second term he rightfully won in 2020, none of this shit would be going on right now. I'll be voting for Trump a third time if the Lord lets me live to Election Day 2024, even if I have to write his name in. After that, the GOPe can kiss my ass.
