I must reluctantly agree. Own your mistakes, and learn from them.
In this particular instance, Trump is missing at least the first part.

Trump admits a mistake? No, he didn’t. He never does. This is no admission of a failure. It’s shifting the blame.

Trump also selected Pence as his vice president. That slimy individual has always made my skin crawl. A holier-than-thou, condescending creep. Trump should be calling him sanctimonious. Another one of Trump’s mistakes.
