Ukraine ping

Jane Long: [Oooh....the Zeepers will melt, over this.]

Not really. Some of the Turning Point people are neo-Russians. The old Russians supported the Russian empire while it flew a red flag. The neo-Russians support this empire now that it flies a tricolor. It’s free country. They can support whomever they like. However, just as Free Republic did not represent a majority of voters when a majority of Freepers opposed Romney for the nomination, a majority of Turning Point members don’t represent the GOP.

A clear majority of Freepers supports Russia in this conflict. Whereas a similarly clear majority of people identified as Republicans supports Ukraine. And, more important, an even bigger majority of independents, who will decide the election, supports Ukraine. This means that if Trump wins the nomination and continues to support Russia, at least rhetorically, he will lose the election, and perhaps bring the House down with him.

If Russia invaded Ukraine? It doesn’t matter a whit if I’m ok with it or not. Otherwise, I’d be curious to know why they want to do that.

This is your hypothetical; Why do these Russian politicians say they want to invade Finland? Are their reason similar to the reasons the USA gives when we invade a country?

It’s one thing to not want to be involved in the war. It’s another thing totally to be rooting for Russia, the invader, to win—which is what some Freepers are doing.

I mourn every single death in this senseless brother war - while these boats continue into Italy, Greece, France, and Spain daily, unabated...millions upon millions of enemy invaders to make "Europe" a relic of the past.

Boy oh boy are you ever off base. I wasn’t insulting Jane at all and where you got that idea I don’t know. The poster hardspunned was giving Jane a bad time. Since the topic of Russia was previously brought up by this poster it had reminded me of Liz cheney, ergo the bit of fun. No name calling, no insulting by me to jane. By the way, telling people to shove it, over something as silly as this, crosses a line.

How about those of us that want each to pull back to their original boundaries and knock it off? Toddler management…Trump knows how to do this.

Posting half of the quote is the same as lying.

Why didnt you post the whole quote? Instead of posting the link?

The answer is..you want a confrontation. And that is why this site is losing people who used to donate to it.

Russia, China, North Korea, Syria, Iran, Code Pink, Belarus, Cuba, TPUSA, Venezuela, Antifa, Nicaragua, Peace in Ukraine, Central African Republic, RFK Jr., Socialist Workers Party....

Really nice crowd there (pro-Russian/anti-Ukraine, "neutral but pro-Moscow, etc). Lie down with dogs. Get up with fleas.

Ronald Reagan would recognize NONE of this.

BINGO.

Free Republic is ENTIRELY unrepresentative of the whole of America, (once you venture out of the hermetically sealed silo here and actually talk to people and run the numbers as you have) or even average America, at least on this issue.

Well, in politics there appears to only be two sides in America. In war there is usually only two sides. The situation is prime territory for Dialectical Materialists (Marxism-Leninism) to flourish. This will bring a horrible future.

American and Western culture used to be centered around Christian morality, a system of absolutes. Good and bad, right and wrong. In the last 40 years the culture has taken a step away from that. And look what happened. The results are clear to see both inside America and in the world. Sarah Palin warned about this in 2008. She was absolutely right.

I don't support Russia. Neither do I support Ukraine. Like Trump, I just want the dying to stop, and I want the US to stop bleeding money and supplies into that quagmire.

Ukraine is not a vital US interest. Being able to stop China is.

I support the US. And I would make the point that those who want the Ukraine conflict to drag on, are really working against US interests and for China.

Well, in politics there appears to only be two sides in America. In war there is usually only two sides.

Many times, there are three sides: the two sides that are fighting, and the side that wants both of them weakened so that it can come in and conquer both.

China wants the US and Russia to bleed each other dry. The US so that we will not be in a position to resist when they take Taiwan. Russia, so they won't resist when China moves to take Siberia.

A large percentage of Republicans in elective office support the war because they represent the donor class and not the voter class. They need to be primaried and removed.

People need to understand that not supporting the regime in Ukraine is NOT necessarily equivalent to supporting the regime in Russia. Both are filthy with corruption, as is the incompetent Biden regime. Supporting the people of either country is not the same as supporting their respective regimes or leaders.

Pointing out Zelenskyy’s faults and missteps does not automatically make one a Putin supporter and the reverse is also true.

Many FReepers don’t support either side in this conflict, and don’t support our involvement in it as a matter of governmental policy.

“Many FReepers don’t support either side in this conflict, and don’t support our involvement in it as a matter of governmental policy.”

That would be me. And we should demand that Zelensky return our money. The fact that OUR tax dollars are funding salaries and pensions for UKRAINE’S government employees is ludicrous.

They support the Uniparty and the government.

They do not support the people.

They do however offer up the children of the people to die for their selfish interests.

Perhaps you need to tell exactly what he did say. You removed some of it.

He was talking about negotiations. Your boy Ron runs scared from that idea and his true stance on the war because he is owned by the profiteers.
