HOUSTON - The last two months are described as "terrifying" for a Houston woman who we’re told is being detained in Dubai. So, why is she being held?
The "crime" Tierra Young Allen is charged with may surprise you.
Dubai is increasingly a vacation destination for a number of Houston women. Now, one is trying to get back to the Bayou City, but we’re told her passport has been confiscated because her mom says she’s been charged with the crime of screaming in public.
"It also could result in prison time. So it’s very scary," explains Allen’s mom Tina Baxter who says the trip turned terrifying for her daughter Tierra Young Allen when she was a passenger in a friend’s rental car, and they got into an accident there in Dubai.
Baxter says when her daughter went to the rental car company to retrieve her ID, credit card, and other items left in the rental it didn’t go well.
"She found out she could only receive those items if she paid an undisclosed amount of money. She dealt with a very aggressive individual a young man there who was screaming at her," Baxter adds, and she says her 29-year-old daughter ultimately yelled back resulting in her daughter being charged for screaming there in Dubai.
"She is in jail for one reason and one reason alone, she raised her voice. In that country, a female is not even allowed to raise her voice. If she raises her voice it’s punishable by jail time," explains Community Activist Quanell X.

I guess she’s learning that NOT all countries discriminate based on race. In this case, as in Houston, she no-doubt figured the race card would, once again, get her off.

Not for everyone. Others get a total pass on anti-social behavior.
She's gotten away with this for so long in the United States because nobody would correct her behavior out of fear of being called racist, she likely thought she could get away with it wherever she traveled.
This is where a failure to be held accountable really comes back to bite one in the ass.
There’s got to be more to the story than just her “raising her voice.” She probably acted like an entitled ass and made a big, ugly scene. That’s not a smart thing to do in Dubai for any American. If she was dressed provocatively on top of it (not saying she was), that could have exacerbated things.
Again, I suspect we’re not getting the whole story; we’re getting the Quanell X version.
LOL, hope the Arabs in Dubai release the tape.
She probably got away with screaming in the U.S. whenever she didn’t get her way - and it worked, every time.
I’ve seen these entitled types screaming in airports and other places and the management capitulates - afraid of being called racist and having their business targeted by BLM.
I guess her influence doesn’t mean jack in Dubai. Imagine that !
I've been to the Middle East and Eastern Europe many times without issues.
Behave yourself, understand the local customs, don't break the laws, and you'll be just fine.
If you want to behave like an "ugly American" you'll find trouble.

All cultures are equal.
An American citizen’s “rights” to be offensive do not follow them to other countries. What would be cheered as “you go girl!” here in America by her peers, in a nation where so many people feel such behavior will get them a big pay-out because they are “offended” doesn’t always get them their way in other countries.
A female basket-ball player discovered just a short time ago that freedoms and special status you may enjoy here in our nation, doesn’t always transfer to other countries.
She chose poorly.
It’s another country.
Throw the book at her.
Throw her in the can for a couple of years...after a severe public whipping.
She might want to take up girls basketball and contact FJB.
