The biggest evidence against the “lab leak” story is that the earliest cases of Covid were centered at or near the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market several miles away.

“The Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market in Wuhan was the early epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Had the virus escaped from the lab, the earliest cases would have been clustered around the lab area, not the market.

While it is possible for researchers who are doing experiments on a virus to accidently catch the virus, this is highly unlikely since the lab operates under strict biosafety protocols.

Even if there were a lab leak of a virus under study, that would not be a “smoking gun” that anyone created the SARS-CoV-2 virus. In order to create a brand new virus, we would need a far better understanding of protein structure, function, and interactions than we currently have. Because viruses cause disease through the functions of their proteins. Even trying to piece together existing parts of viruses to develop something that could cause a human pandemic is a hit-or-miss activity. Without extensive testing, there is no way to know if a virus would have the desired activity. There is no evidence that the lab in Wuhan conducted tests of Frankenstein viruses to see if any would have pandemic potential. Furthermore, if a virus were altered or patched together in that fashion—or if it was completely fabricated from scratch—the fact that it isn’t natural would be picked up immediately the first time the virus was sequenced. To a molecular biologist, the evidence that a genetic element has been altered is as obvious as the evidence that a board results from the unnatural alteration of a tree.

So you believe it occurred naturally from the wet market?

After reading a number of your posts, I still can’t decide if you are dugawayduke or gas-dr. Since they were probably the same person, you are probably both.

“the fact that it isn’t natural would be picked up immediately the first time the virus was sequenced”

If it arose naturally of zoonotic origin why does the spike protein contain a patented Moderna sequence in it?

In a normal place, sure. But in someplace like China, it's easy to see some scientists taking test animals to sell in the market instead of burning them.
Additionally, haven't several Chinese labs had issues with following proper protocols? Didn't France or some other country refuse to help them build level 4 containments because they didn't take safety seriously enough?
