This is the illusion that they are beneficially minded - but just foolish.
They know exactly what they are doing.
Look at the kids of the people doing this stuff. They are in private schools and/or tutors doing the exact opposite.
This is deliberate to create an even larger dysfunctional/dependent class, with less competition for elite positions for them and theirs.
Who will get hurt by this?

All student should be taught practical life skills math that they will use in everyday life.
They should also take shop and home ec.
If you leave school and do not know how to change a washer, make a simple meal or calculate interest on your credit card that school has failed you.

If the washer doesn't want to change then you are probably not going to have much success no matter what type of washer class you had in high school.
12th grade. The “regular” AP Calculus I think which was AB, not BC.

We did AB as well, but the “integrated” math sequence is terrible, it’s no prep at all. Didnt help with UC either, even with an A, we didn’t understand the need for all the AP courses. Woulda taken a few of the fluffy ones…easy grade bump.

I’ve noticed that top educational bureaucrats tend to dance around issues using lots of figurative language,sometimes,even using compound words they make up. They string these words into long phrases and finally into tortured,run on sentences. They do this to obscure their actual woke clap-trap. The above article is a case in point.
School choice could begin to fix this nonsense.
