Join Reason on YouTube and Facebook Thursday at 1 p.m. Eastern for a discussion about lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic with Institute for Progress founder Alec Stapp.
The COVID-19 pandemic and the government's response to it cost millions of lives and trillions of dollars and resulted in a major hit to global freedom. What should governments, private companies, and individuals do differently next time disaster strikes?
Alec Stapp, co-founder of the Institute for Progress, has assembled a team devoted to analyzing and applying the lessons of the pandemic. The institute has published papers arguing that Operation Warp Speed was a success that should be duplicated, for greater investment in indoor filtration, and for better biosurveillance. Join Reason's Zach Weissmueller and Liz Wolfe this Thursday at 1 p.m. Eastern on YouTube or Facebook for a live conversation with Stapp about how to prevent the next global catastrophe.

NOPE..
If and it’s a big if the vaccines worked as intended then they would be a big success but given all the evidence of lies that were told about the vaccines you would have to say the development of the vaccines did more damage than good and only benefited the government and big pharmaceutical companies
It would have been if the shot was made a choice not a requirement.
I say yes - the purpose (as I remember) was to provide a way to avoid isolation and get back to work. However, the “vaccine” could not provide the protection as advertised (still do not know why he did not put his attorney general in charge). He was not in office when the “booster” shots were introduced, which I believe is the source of all the aftereffects and deaths.
If they are giving Trump credit for it, sounds like they know it did not turn out very good
It got Biden elected, so it achieved it’s purpose. Why Trump wanted to get Biden elected that way, I have no idea.
The risk/reward of the shot made sense, even with all we know, for the old, the diabetic, the obese, and a number of other groups. The Mengele-esque cult of the shot, the government coercion, the enrichment of big pharma were all outside of Trumps control.
The way to avoid isolation was to quit ordering people to isolate themselves. The supposed "need" for a "vaccine" was simply a bureaucratic decision with no basis in science.
Good movie
According to Trump it was one of the greatest achievements of mankind. So we have landing on the Moon and the Pfizer “vaccine.”
Yes. So, he should run on that.
In terms of making resources available, identifying failures at the state level, coordinating innovative solutions, etc., definitely Yes.
But natural immunity kicked by the end of Trump’s Presidency. The vaxx disaster and opportunism that followed took hold during Biden’s evil reign.
I highly suspect that the ingredients in all of the shots changed numerous times over the course of this fiasco. When the shot first came out, I suspect it was less dangerous.
Personally...I think they “lied their butts off”...and they should have pushed the J&J....but they wanted this NEW mrna “vaccine” and they needed test subjects. They shut everything down as part of their “testing”...they needed the isolation for their test....the hell with herd immunity.
Easy and obvious answer -
As a logistical undertaking as well as cutting through bureaucratic roadblocks it was very successful.
Sadly, the vaccine did not accomplish its objective and it is proving to be a very flawed product with an unacceptable adverse reaction profile.
With the benefit of hindsight, there was no reason that Trump could not have done an all of the above approach and allowed for off-label use of IVM, HCQ, and made a public health push for heavy vitamin D supplementation.
PS - Trump got played by big pharma and the health bureaucracy. Without government involvement and streamlining the vaccine would NEVER have happened. They told us they were doing it for humanity but there are now 40 new pharma billionaires (think this is the # I heard).
We got ripped off thanks to many people including Trump.
No!
Primarily he failed to communicate the risk that a dramatically speeded up program would have. The “speed” compromised both effectiveness and safety.
He may have been fed BS about speed and risk. Also his “germophobic fears (If indeed true!)” may have been manipulated.
Isn’t the J&J vaccine now bannedd?
Find a weakness and exploit it is what the deep state does. He had no expertise in the area and relied on Fauci. I’m sure they are still laughing about how badly he got rolled.
