Biden tangles with reporter who questions US commitment to NATO: 'No one can guarantee the future'

President Biden tangled with a reporter Thursday after he appeared to say the U.S. could not guarantee its commitment to NATO, quickly correcting himself.

During a joint press conference with Finnish President Sauli Niinistö following the 2023 U.S.-Nordic Leaders' Summit in Helsinki, Finland, Biden was asked about a failed Senate bill that would prevent future U.S. presidents from withdrawing from NATO without Senate approval. A reporter asked the president what actions he would take to assure Finland that the U.S. will remain a reliable partner for the coming decades.

"I absolutely guarantee it," Biden initially replied. "There is no question there's overwhelming support from the American people. There's overwhelming support from the members of the Congress, both House and Senate, in both parties notwithstanding the fact that some extreme elements of one party," he said, swiping at GOP lawmakers he's dubbed "extreme MAGA Republicans" for their skepticism of U.S. aid to Ukraine.

He went on to say that "no one can guarantee the future," but that U.S. commitments to NATO partners are "the best bet anyone can make."

I'd go for accepting Ukraine into NATO on the same day that the U.S. leaves NATO.

Hmm. What the EU partners (so-called) in NATO accused Trump of being, Biden actually is.

The backstabbing of Zelensky and Ukraine is coming. Many Ukranians will suffer because of it. And Putin will end up winning (and have a side deal, keep quiet about money laundering and get all sanctions lifted).

Finland and Sweden were “de facto” members of NATO since 1995. They participated in all NATO meetings, NATO exercises, the War on Terror, and the Iraq War.

My reply to Joe Biden (care of Grouch o Marx):

[PROFESSOR WAGSTAFF]
I don’t know what they have to say
It makes no difference anyway
Whatever it is, I’m against it
No matter what it is or who commenced it
I’m against it

Your proposition may be good
But let’s have one thing understood:
Whatever it is, I’m against it
And even when you’ve changed it or condensed it
I’m against it

I’m opposed to it
On general principles, I’m opposed to it

[STUDENTS]
He’s opposed to it
In fact, indeed, he’s opposed to it

[WAGSTAFF]
For months before my son was born
I used to yell from night till morn
“Whatever it is, I’m against it.”
And I’ve been yelling since I first commenced it
I’m against it

Bill Clinton talked Ukraine into giving up nukes on its soil by promising to defend Ukraine against the Russians. Obama passed on honoring that commitment.

Keep sending cluster bombs and depleted uranium missiles and that may just happen.

Biden Approves Mobilization of Reserves to Support Ukraine

MilitarySpot.com

2 hours ago — JULY 14, 2023 - President Joe Biden yesterday issued an executive order approving the mobilization of select reserve forces with up to 3000 …

—-————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

And as Lincoln Brown warns via PJ Media, one must ask oneself if a precedent is being set.

It takes an act of Congress to declare war. Historically, the president must go to the legislature and ask for a declaration. But Biden is taking advantage of his office to mobilize select portions of the military and send them to Europe, bypassing the need to even so much as consult with Congress. Is it an attempt to hide or secure something? Or is it merely an act of a self-obsessed and deluded president and cabinet?

Whatever the case may be, one should be disturbed at the thought of Joe Biden and his advisors pushing toy soldiers around a map of Europe. All the while oblivious to what is at stake. Not just for the nation but for the world. In a worst-case scenario, this is not going to be like D-Day, as horrific as that was. This will not be General Patton racing across Europe with his tanks to be the first to cross the Rhine. This will not even be like Vietnam or any of the recent conflicts in the Middle East.

This could potentially be unlike anything we have experienced before.

That would be a great gaffe. “We are ready to welcome Taiwan into NATO any day now...”

(Yes I know we already have a protection agreement with them.)
