Why do disgraced Americans like Scott Ritter spout pro-Putin propaganda in Russia?
euronews.com ^ | 5/25/23 | Una Hajdari

Former UN weapons inspector Scott Ritter is touring Russian cities and claiming Ukraine will lose the war. Why do he and other disgraced Americans insist on defending Putin's rhetoric?

Russian propaganda outlets have loved quoting Americans they believe are arguing in Moscow's favour ever since the 2014 invasion of Ukraine, and even more so since the full-scale attack launched in February last year.

While the concept of Western intellectuals kowtowing to Soviet leadership – and downplaying their crimes – was relatively common during the Cold War, it has gained new momentum since Russian President Vladimir Putin made clear his plans to either break up or occupy the entirety of Ukraine.

Ritter is a convicted sex offender, having been caught exposing himself to minors online on several occasions. He served a year and a half in prison. Despite this, he claims he was being targeted by the US administration for his opposition to the war in Iraq.

Scott Ritter seems to spout for whomever pays him the most to do so.

Why are some people unable to understand that Putin is a nationalist, therefore an enemy of the globalists and allied with Trump?

Hehe.

There ARE differences. The US economy is not in the main supported by extraction industries wherein the state owns the resources. The US depends on the sweat of its peoples brows in privately held firms subject to market discipline. The US still survives by making stuff.

The proceeds of the US economy aren’t, in the main, invested abroad, but are recycled into (hopefully) productive domestic investments. Trump helped a lot with that BTW.

US crime, at least in value, is restricted to the top of society. The old American volk still exists, largely uncorrupted. The ways of American corruption are highly elitist.

I lost my hood. I’ve been looking for a replacement for a while now. My wife, being a nice person, won’t make me one. Very frustrating.

The Russians implement "The Putin Doctrine" [analogous to the Monroe Doctrine], and we see heads exploding all over FR.

It fascinates me.

Putin is a Putinist. There are many sorts of nationalist. Most of them aren’t out to invade their neighbors.

Here are a few-

Oh yeah? Who's the one dictating where we get to drill for oil? The US government tells us whether we can extract oil from Alaska, from shale in North Dakota, or offshore. We're currently looking at gas prices double what they were just a few years ago because our government says we can't do anything to alleviate that.

The proceeds of the US economy aren’t, in the main, invested abroad, but are recycled into (hopefully) productive domestic investments.

Seems to me like we invested in factories in China and Mexico, and the infrastructure to support them, and are now dependent on them, whereas in the US we've moved to a service economy, and we literally have bridges falling down.

The Putin doctrine involves making war on very uncooperative neighbors. The US never had to do that. Else it would likely have modified the Monroe policy.

Most US oil and gas comes out of private land.

Before the current US government got their mitts on policy gas was cheap. Change that government and it will again be cheap. Do not condemn the US to hell because you are unhappy about the last five minutes, historically.

Russia however cannot change. Their system is locked in, no matter who is on top.

The big push of the last ten years more or less, has been about insourcing.

You watch any of the new videos of the fighting this day?

Looks like they hit the Ukies with one of those smaller drone thermobaric bombs. WAS THAT EVER A HELL OF AN EXPLOSION!

If that size thermobaric bomb does that much, I would be really concerned if I was the Ukies about the 500 or one thousand pound bombs.

I’d hate to see what their 40 thousand pounder could do.

“Ritter is a convicted sex offender, having been caught exposing himself to minors online on several occasions.”

No, it was to an FBI agent and an undercover cop pretending to be a 16 year old.

I’m more interested in why Americans spout pro-DC propaganda in lockstep with Obama, Hillary, Schumer, Romney, McCain, Graham, Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, Boris, Macron, Trudeau, Von Der Leyen, and every evil leftist that can be found.

This thread is like a neocon Klan gathering.

I was wondering when this would happen...Ritter comes out with an expose, and instead of listening to what he has to present, 12 hours later it's all "SCOTT RITTER IS 666 blah blah blah, I don't care what he says!" It's SOP around here for the neocons.

I'm not a giant fan of the videos of the fighting.

I'll occasionally watch one - but one goes a long way.

"Their system works on the basis of state-designated oligarchs who skim oil revenues and keep them abroad. And below that it seems like its more layers of organised crime, down to rural villages. And the plurality of the population seems to be either drunk or drugged."

Are you talking about Russia or the US?

The “last five minutes” of this country, as you put it, has occurred in many countries. Those same last five minutes of Russian history, before their revolution, resulted in decades of brutal communism, followed by the oligarchy that you despise so much now. The last five minutes of Germany before the Nazi take over resulted in World War II, and would still be a mess if they hadn’t lost the war. The last five minutes of Rome resulted in the death of an empire that had lasted hundreds of years. Once certain changes are brought about, they cannot be undone without, shall we say, a major restructuring. The USA has crossed a threshold and is no longer the country it once was, and it cannot be restored without a “major restructuring”.
