VILNIUS, Lithuania — President Biden ridiculed a reporter Wednesday by saying that Ukraine would join NATO “an hour and 20 minutes” after the end of its war with Russia and mockingly calling the question “really insightful.”
Biden bristled at an American journalist at the conclusion of his public meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during the annual NATO summit in Lithuania’s capital.
“How soon after the war would you like to join NATO?” a reporter asked Zelensky, who had criticized the Atlantic alliance for withholding an invitation to join until after the war.
Biden answered the question instead.
“An hour and 20 minutes,” the president, adding jeeringly, “You guys ask really insightful questions.”

Zelensky should improve his attire to project a more successful image when engaging in diplomatic activities. His current style appears mismatched and undermines his presence on the world stage, giving the impression of being ill-suited for the occasion.

Well, for one thing, no NATO member has ever been invaded by Russia.

The handlers are allowing Biden to walk around ranting at people. Potentially with World War III in the balance. He might, like LBJ, think it unmanly to back down to anyone about his policy decisions, even if it takes lives in war.

Biden wants to ‘give the reporter a piece of his mind’, then discovers he doesn’t have it to spare.
Sounds like we’re almost out of munitions to give them, so the war will be over soon with Ukraine no longer owning any of the territory Putin wants once they join NATO.

A. It adds another country to the list the United States must defend with its treasure, and maybe also with its blood. It also gives credence to the old Russian suspicion of NATO. That’s not helpful.
And that’s just for starters.
Hope he keeps insulting the press. They’ve had enough of him and are starting to turn, believe it or not. Pray they’ll put their investigative hats on in regard to corruption and cover-ups.
There are about 300,000 less Ukranian young men since 2/22, so joining any military alignment is a challenge.

NATO was established as a deterrent against Soviet (Russian) aggression. It is a voluntary organization. No one was coerced into joining. Everyone joined on their own because they were scared of the Russian Mafia state next door. None of those states want to actually BE in a war. This is why they came up the rule that any state that joined had to have no ongoing war and no current separatist region that would require passivation. Many of those states, like Latvia, and Lithuania would be overrun in a day if an actual war started. It takes all of the present members to agree to allow a new member into NATO. The politicians who know they would lose voters if a war starts are not likely to agree to allow Ukraine in. Allowing Ukraine in while it is at war with Russia is never going to happen. Ukraine knows this so I don’t know why they are pissing off NATO members and scaring the citizens of NATO countries by acting as they presently are.
The flip side of this is Russia can keep Ukraine out of NATO by refusing to sign a peace deal. A frozen conflict works in their favor. Putin, I think honestly, believes the West will lose interest and he’ll eventually win. Given statements by US political candidates he’s probably right.
