The Titanic sank less fast than the previous half-hour. What a break for the passengers.

The consumer price index rose 0.2% in June and was up 3% from a year ago, the lowest level since March 2021.

Fun with percentages.

The Biden admin will have a kazoo parade touting the June 2023 stats.

Hi.

In the fwiw department inflation is cumulative and perpetuating.

Bad bad juju.

And for those at DU, the solution is Fed gov has to stop spending more than it takes in.

Sheesh.

Which means prices will stay at higher level combining all inflation rates since Biden was selected. I bought a grass edger for $78 in 2019. I need a replacement. New price at Home Depot for same edger model is now $129. Thank you Biden for nothing.

Meat prices are putting a lie to that figure.

Hamburger is up OVER 33% alone.

Inflation isn't dropping, the rate of increase is slowing down.

Prices are still going up and may be forever higher than they were during the Trump years unless we enter a deflationary period.

I don’t know how they can call inflation 4% when prices are literally doubling.

High inflation has been with so long now that year over year measurements are no longer giving us the true picture of how much things have gone up. Basically, they’re telling us that these higher prices are the new normal.

haven’t seen a break here. prices of various things still going up, or going back up from a quick few cents drop. gas, groceries, take out.

a month ago one store had jumbo eggs $1.25/dozen and the date was still good to sell for a month. I read the sign 3 times then bought a bunch for a number of family and friends. that was about the only good price I saw and haven’t seen it since.

Whose numbers are these. Are they from the government. If so, why should we believe them. They have lied about so many different things. Inflation has driven prices up, but what is going to drive prices down? Once inflation makes the scene, he may take a rest, but he never leaves. Prices will stay high from now on.

Inflation rose just 0.2% in June over existing inflation that’s good news.

Oh wait it’s the MSM feel up job.

Hamburger prices rose quite a bit. Walmart 12 angus beef patties cost a few days ago $19.99
It is today $21.96 vs $14.99 just a few months ago.
