Why shouldn’t Russian propaganda have a free airing in American social media?? Taibbi is right, Putin’s lies should be in my Aunt’s twitter feed!
From the article: “In this case, they later determined that they couldn’t find anything connecting them (these 3 accounts) to any bad actors.”
The issue isn’t one of Putin’s propaganda showing up in your Aunt’s FB feed - it is whether the US Government has the right to shut down ANY speech by proxy through social media companies. This FedGov team said “jump”, and FB (now) & Twitter (before) said “how high?”. It’s a 1st Amendment issue, and one of advancing FedGov’s narrative, while suppressing other perspectives.
In other words, Government censorship.
