The issue isn’t one of Putin’s propaganda showing up in your Aunt’s FB feed - it is whether the US Government has the right to shut down ANY speech by proxy through social media companies. This FedGov team said “jump”, and FB (now) & Twitter (before) said “how high?”. It’s a 1st Amendment issue, and one of advancing FedGov’s narrative, while suppressing other perspectives.
In other words, Government censorship.

And soon social media sites started jumping even before being directed to by the FBI. Also, with censorship teams on both sides coordinating to delete and ban anything that goes against the government narrative, it’s a given that they are also promoting fake information that benefits the government’s point of few.
That’s why you have what we call “trolls” posting comments at sites still insisting the Russia/Trump collusion story is true. Or saying such things as “Hunter Biden is not an elected official so what he does has no bearing on anything”, and other such nonsense. I suspect those are government-paid actors with scripts provided by the FBI and other government agencies. For even after being corrected on facts, the next day they are posting the same exact comments.
The mantra that red states have more crime than blue states is another such issue on which they will ignore proven facts showing those crimes all come from democrat-controlled cities. The trolls post the talking points as if copied straight from the DNC. I believe that many are paid with our tax dollars and I wish some investigative reporter would follow the trails that would lead to the persons or agencies who are paying those trolls. All “Disinformation” is not coming from foreign actors as the government insists as an excuse which requires them to monitor social media. Much of the disinformation are those that are “calls coming from inside the house”.
