Charles Manson follower Leslie Van Houten walked out of a California prison Tuesday after serving 53 years of a life sentence for her participation in two infamous murders.
The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said Van Houten 'was released to parole supervision.'
Her release comes days after Gov. Gavin Newsom announced he would not fight a state appeals court ruling that Van Houten should be granted parole.

Yup: Van Houten was at the LaBianca slaughter. Patricia Krenwrinkel was at the Tate house, along with Susan Atkins, Tex Watson, and Linda Kasabian (who stayed outside, as she wanted no part of the slaughter).

I agree. Few women have the looks of Sharon Tate...a huge GIFT to every man (and boy) who hasn’t been Groomed. She was a HUGE LOSS, a woman who could have reminded Americans of the value of ‘keeping it in the closet’ regarding the LGBTs.
So yes, DEFINITELY a tougher sentence for her, than say, a ‘guilty’ 40 year old high school teacher who preys on innocent boys.
It’s not that difficult to have a justice system that treats people based on their value to society.

She was pregnant. They denied the world the pleasure of knowing her baby, and all so they could trigger a race war, figuring the police would start rounding up blacks, causing a backlash. While I think murder deserves the death penalty the measure for time for the crime of murder should be about the same. Should not depend on if it was someone famous or a police officer. The person who murdered John Lennon should have gotten the same sentence as the robber who murder the store clerk.

Yeah I’ve heard those stories about porolees committing crimes to get back in prison.....for some prison life is the best life they’ve ever had, which is unbelievably sad.

IIRC, many of these Manson chicks were over-privileged brats from wealthy families. Maybe she was one of them; maybe it’s her inheritance.
Yes but the difference is the character in the movie didn’t want to leave prison but was basically kicked out.
This woman WANTS out.......or so she thinks. Which is why I said what I did.
She won’t know if she can function in society for a while.
My concern is there will more than likely be a certain element that will embrace her as some sort of celebrity......society being as sick as it is.
