DeSantis’s stumbles have GOP mulling other Trump alternatives

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s weaker-than-expected campaign is prompting other Republicans, such as Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin and Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp, to take a new look at running for president, GOP strategists say.

These Republicans argue that DeSantis, long seen as the strongest potential challenger in a GOP primary to former President Trump, has failed to establish himself as the clear alternative.

“I think his high point was right after the last election, when he was the brightest spot on an otherwise somewhat disappointing night for Republicans,” said GOP strategist Vin Weber, commenting on the big DeSantis reelection victory for governor in 2022.

“Since then, he hasn’t come on as strong. It looks to me people are looking at it because he’s not as strong as he was before,” added Weber, who advised Republican presidential campaigns in 1996, 2004 and 2008.

Weber argued Trump also looks vulnerable, despite his massive polling lead, because of his mounting legal problems, which could make the race look more attractive to Youngkin and Kemp.

Why does everybody here still think that Biden will be the democratic candidate? Biden will drop out because he will be unable to function by the end of the year. Newsome will be the candidate. Don’t be surprised if Moochelle is his VP pick.

The Deep State® sacrificed Crist by engineering a DeSantis landslide. They hoped DeSantis would take down Trump but now it looks like that won’t happen so they are desperately searching for alternatives.

“GOP mulling other Trump alternatives”

It’s the MAGA Party now-
GOPe is long dead and buried.

There is no alternative to MAGA.
And it’s not just our PDJT The GOAT.

It’s America First that matters.

Kemp too. He easily beat Abrams but he needs to focus on taking down Ossoff in 26. We need at least one senator representing the red part of the state. I can’t see Kemp as a national figure.

The anti-Trump rich DeSantis Donors are now realizing Ronnie is not the
Winning Racehorse they thought he was.
And are looking elsewhere.

Pence - Hell No
Christy- Double Hell No
Vivek - Not Possible, But Likable
Haley - Backstabbing RINO
Scott - In Over His Head But Could Attract More Blacks To GOP

So who will They Choose?

That’s why I hope it’s trump. No need to damage anyone else.

He seems to win elections though. That’s what we need to start doing again. It’s been a long time since we’ve had a good election night.

Counting on a corrupt administration taking out the people’s choice of a candidate to give another candidate an opening is not a good optic for anyone.

I see articles about how desperate the Biden administration is over the Hunter affair. But they are not as desperate as the RNC is over the idea of Trump winning another term.

Yeh its been a long time because the elections are rigged. See how that works? It doesn’t just stop by itself. Jesus Christ couldn’t win on the Republican ticket in 2024 unless 2020 gets fixed. Ron DeSantis has about as much support for president as Jeb Bush did. Even if the election was free and fair how in the world do you think he would win?

Ron DeSantis needs to fulfill his obligation to the voters of Fla and be Governor for 4 years. He’s not presidential material.

DeSantis won’t be in the running come next year. Pence, Rubio or Youngkin. Maybe all three.

I got news for ya RINOs. Trump’s gonna win. It doesn’t matter how much you give his opponents. It doesn’t matter if you can sucker another fool into throwing his career away at the 11th hour by trying to run against Trump now. Trump’s gonna win.

Suck it.

"There ain’t no alternative to Trump. He IS the FRONTRUNNER!!"

This is clearly true, at the moment. However, what happens if Trump withdraws? I cannot say why this would happen, but there are many possibilities, and I have a weird intuition that something will occur in the next twelve months to force it. Since I cannot say why I believe this, other than I feel it, I cannot defend the notion either. So, if he stays in, he wins, but who replaces him if he does not stay in? This is worth thinking about. I would guess Desantis does, despite his present showing, or maybe Ramaswami surges. It cannot be Pence, Christie, or Hutchison.

Youngkin is an interesting candidate for several reasons. First, by not declaring while Trump dominates, he “fights without fighting” as Bruce Lee put it. He preserves his status yet does so with becoming a target. Finally, he is the rare Republican who is prepared for and knows how to fight the Democratic fraud machine. It was by blocking Fairfax County’s midnight ballot dump via “discovered” thumb drives, among other things, that he won the governor’s race in Virginia.

That’s why thank God trump will be the sacrificial candidate. Let him figure it out. No use letting another candidate be involved with the mess.

There is no alternative that is going to get more than 15-20% of the primary vote.
