GOP Is Leaning Into Moderate, Experienced Senate Candidates In 2024 To Avoid Another Failed Red Wave, Experts Say

Republicans are looking to recruit moderate and experienced candidates for Senate races in 2024 to avoid a repeat of losses in the 2022 midterms, GOP campaign experts and conservative commentators told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), the GOP’s campaign arm responsible for Senate elections, is looking to place moderate nominees with elected experience in competitive races, experts told the DCNF. An emphasis on electability offered by experienced candidates, they said, is essential to winning — unlike novice candidates subscribing to former President Donald Trump’s brand of populism. (RELATED: In Blow To GOP, Rep. Mike Gallagher Decides Against Senate Run)

In the 2022 midterm elections, Trump’s endorsement helped several populist candidates in Arizona, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Georgia win primary races over moderate candidates. All of them went on to lose their elections, which observers ascribed to their Trump-style views that were unpalatable to general election voters, with a “red wave” failing to materialize.

The concern has led to “electability” as being a top priority for candidates endorsed by the NRSC. A spokesperson for Republican Sen. Steve Daines of Montana, the NRSC’s chairman, told the DCNF that his “number one priority is recruiting candidates who can win a primary and a general election.”

Something folks should keep in mind: Dominion isn’t the only manufacturer of these things.

Two things for sure: (1) They will not end the further descent into unpayable debut, and (2) They will not oppose any spending on weapons and war, despite #1.

The US is broken and likely unfixable.

Surrender Monkeys recruiting Surrender Monkeys.

All Biden’s Spending and Legislation was passed with Republicans sans one Bill they didn’t need any GOP Votes to pass.

McCarthy and McConnell are going to help Joe every time he asks.

The Red Wave was stopped by the same kind of cheat-by-mail-in ballots that were used in 2020, and MAGA candidates were given no support by the GOPe. Not one peep from the RINOs about how Kari Lake was cheated and what her legal battles have unearthed.

The RINOs are telling the grassroots that they had better vote for the establishment candidate in the primary, otherwise the GOP will once again look the other way while the Rats cheat a MAGA candidate in the general.

winning, time to get back to winning

McCarthy gave him that pipeline to ensure he would do just that.

People have to understand the Party Power players love it just how it is. Lots of Spending with their old buddies.

“Where have all the fiscal conservatives gone?”

That’s pretty close to heart of the problem both at a state level and the feds. Sure, voting fraud, corruption of candidates and other nefarious actions are all part of it. Yet the main problem is that the GOP is a worthless, dead political party. The do-nothings ever was the biggest reason there was no red wave, and if the house keeps the current tack they’ll lose again. There just isn’t enough support to keep that worthless party going, some argue for a third party. I say fine but can we get a two-party system first?

Corruption is threw the roof and I don’t think we’re gonna make it.

Also more perpetual war and probably a second front probably in Taiwan or Thailand. If you to see more dedollarization, debt and waning US power worldwide, by all means vote in more uniparty candidates.

And it matters not the vote count if it’s a rigged process. That’s the 900 pound Rainbow striped gorilla in the middle of the room.

WI, PA, and MI legislatures had a chance to stop the fraud in 2020. They paid the price in 2022.

Dr. Oz didn't lose to a stroke patient because he wasn't moderate enough - he was just a lousy campaigner. We don't need moderates - we need principled conservatives who actually know how to campaign effectively.

Out of approx 277, only MTG spoke of Republican Voters and Impeachment action against Biden. And she was thrown out of the Freedom Caucus because she was so out of line with the ‘Let them Eat cake’ attitude.
