A revoked Nevada license plate that was meant to “drive away” Californians is getting one last chance to go back on the streets.
The plate — which reads “GOBK2CA,” short for “Go back to California” — was recalled by the state Department of Motor Vehicles in May after it received a complaint, KOLO-TV first reported. Now the vehicle owner is appealing the recall and will have a hearing on Wednesday, according to the Reno-area news station.
A section of the Nevada Administrative Code applied to the recall prohibits defamatory references to a person or group.
“In this case, the defamed group is Californians,” DMV spokesperson Eli Rohl told the Las Vegas Review-Journal. He adding that the department “regularly” turns down license plates that share the same message.

I understand the DMV needing to have some control over messages on prestige tags. That said, they are being WAY too sensitive here.
The complainer should be the first one sent back to Commiefornia.

I do love the thought, however, (as a happy Citizen of a Mountain West state that wishes people would clean up their own states rather than screwing up successful ones.)
Oh Dear: What are we offended by today?
My thoughts exactly.
However, ASSMAN is still available.
“CA” doesn’t necessarily have to be California. It could be “CArmax”. Or “CApitol One”. Or “CAlculator”. Or “CAke Boss”.
Just tell them it’s an LL Cool J. tribute.

They should already have this message properly spelled on all Nevada license plates.
Additionally, they should not cooperate with any California State crapola as Calipornia has been doing to other states for about a Century now.
State of Calipornia Bureaucrats and Liberal Socialist Calipornians need a good hard object lesson in Respect and Consideration of others.
If anyone is interested in Northern California politics, my niece is running for office, she is a brilliant analyst and an even better person.
I’d go in with the excuse, “hey, I want to go back to CA. I hate Nevada.”
A neighbor had the plate INYOASS .
Huh ...
Did he live in Inyo? Did he own a donkey?
DIEDEMS is probably not acceptable?
1st amendment....
A license plate that tells Californians to go back to California isn’t defaming them. This is a dumb argument.
I had a bumper sticker on my truck when I lived in Colorado. It read: “Colorado sucks! Go back to California and tell your friends”.
