At age 13, Ash Eskridge was severely under the influence, but not of drugs or alcohol — of TikTok.
The brunette told The Post that trendsetters on the popular app wrongfully convinced her that she was transgender.
“I saw TikTok videos by influencers saying how that transitioning saved their life,” said Eskridge, now 16, from Missoula, Montana.
After becoming depressed at 12, she leaned on the virtual platform as an emotional crutch.
“I was struggling and wanted it to save my life, too,” she told South West News Service.
It was just after the pandemic that the Gen Zer joined the crowd: As part of what’s been dubbed “Generation COVID,” Ash spent the majority of her recreational hours scrolling through social media, where viral hashtags such as #transgender and #trans have amassed a staggering 21.5 billion and 59.6 billion views, respectively.
According to 2022 Pew Research Center research, TikTok has a massive impact on up to 67% of teens 13 to 17. A 2021 study on its sway, conducted by the Shanghai United International School in China, found that the digital space contains “over-exaggeration content that shapes teenager’s value in a misleading way.”

When this fad passes, and it will.....what will be the mental state then of these kids who did this to themselves? The consequences immense.
I bet many will go after their parents and ask them why they allowed them to do this.

Sex is NOT “assigned at birth”, it is DETERMINED at birth by identifying genitals and or chromosomal composition.
I think it is becoming quite clear - social media is driving young people toward mental illness. Be it narcissism, depression, or confusion around their ‘gender identity’ (that the term is even used is a problem).
I believe we should consider such applications to be adult content and illegal for minors. These applications don’t achieve what they claim. When a young person believes ‘their life is over’ due to something posted on social media then we need to recognize this dynamic. Dating apps are a disaster, they drive 80% of women to go after the top 5% of men - leaving the rest of the men in the dust. Social media + dating apps = cancer.
We should at least require the marking of age appropriate content for TikTok and alike. Kids shouldn’t be getting sexually confused due to what they’re exposed to on these apps - it’s no different than the video store having a private section for porn.

The parents are the only culpable here, the kids a kid. I’m at a point that if I knew these pieces of shit I’d tell them to their stinking faces exactly what I thought of them. They utterly abandoned a child at a time of crises. Somewhere in her mind this kid knows this. Don’t be too surprised if a few years down the line there is an explosion of rage especially among the really mutilated ones.
True, but willfulness seems depicted or implied. An abnormal thing needs no such intent/incentive, it merely exists.

I listened to a radio interview about a man who went to therapy because he was feeling depressed, and the therapist convinced him that he was a woman trapped in a man’s body. The remedy was to “become a woman.” If only he would make the transition, his depression would go away.
One day, after all the surgeries, he looked in the mirror and saw that he had become a monster - he could no longer see himself at all. He became even more depressed and now suicidal, until one day he discovered the Lord Jesus Christ and repented and believed upon Him.
Deeply in debt already, he’s going back the other way, but it’s come with an obvious cost - he will never be the same again. He was sounding the alarm that there are predators taking advantage of the mentally ill, and they are creating abominations every day, without a care or conscience.
He said his therapist had an obvious agenda before he ever walked through the door or had a chance to speak. It is pure evil.
Shut down the cellular network, revert to landline phones. Society then has a chance to repair itself.
