A DoJ official says the department is discussing delaying Hunter Biden's plea hearing – following a firestorm of 'sweetheart deal' allegations by whistleblowers and claims that the Attorney General lied to Congress about the Biden criminal probe.
On July 26 a Delaware federal judge is set to decide whether to accept the First Son's plea deal with prosecutors over two tax misdemeanors.
Republican lawmakers are calling for Judge Maryellen Noreika to toss out the 'slap on the wrist' and 'sweetheart' deal entirely, after whistleblowers from the IRS who investigated Hunter for five years say that he could instead have been charged with a raft of more serious tax and corruption crimes.
Now, a legal filing reveals the DoJ is considering delaying the finalizing of the plea deal amid the opprobrium.
Conservative charity the Heritage Foundation is suing the Justice Department for failing to release Delaware prosecutor David Weiss' communication records under the Freedom of Information Act.
A court filing by the Foundation last week documented a June 29 phone call between their lawyer and DoJ counsel Jason Lynch, in which the Justice official allegedly made the stunning admission.
Foundation lawyer Samuel Dewey pointed out to the DoJ attorney that they could ask the federal judge in Hunter's criminal case for his July 26 plea hearing to be delayed, to give them more time to process and release Weiss' records and allow scrutiny of the prosecutorial bargain.
'DoJ Counsel indicated that Plaintiffs were ''absolutely right'' that the Department could file such a motion and that DoJ Counsel would take that point back to the 'District' (presumably speaking of the District of Delaware),' Dewey wrote.
Dewey's description suggests the Justice Department could now be debating whether to delay cementing the plea deal.

I would assume that biden is so pumped full of stay alive drugs he would fail any test.
Arguably, it is too late to file more serious charges due to the statute of limitations according to the whistleblower. They waited until the last possible minute.
What is most strange about this “story” to me is the fact that it was leaked to the DailyMail. DOJ leaks are usually the typical suspects (NY Slimes, Washington Compost, etc).
I know the Daily Mail gets scoops on some stuff, but I can’t remember them being a conduit for DOJ leaks.
The problem with this conspiracy is not Biden or Garland per se. This will involve the real powers behind the throne, the career executives. It will be interesting to watch this play out because a lot of democrats are ready to toss Biden because he is going to be toxic by next year AND they can justify pursuing Trump.
Who do the Biden’s think they are? The Clinton or Obama families? Not a chance and further consider that the more toxic he becomes the more damaging he is to both the deep state (those who selected him), the media, big tech, AND democrats across the entire ticket.
Corruption does not smell better the more you spin it. I will be gobsmacked if Biden is the nominee. Does anyone believe they will bet the entire racket, control of a 5T budget, governance of the dollar and a 20T economy, and foreign policy on Biden?
The “love” from the left for him is a myth and for the few who genuinely have it watch how brittle it truly is.

I think they’d have to let him back into the Army, deploy him to a war zone somewhere, and get him killed on the battlefield. Then dad would really have something to brag about.
Maybe send him to Ukraine as an “advisor.” He has lots of experience in Ukraine. He’s probably fluent in the language by now, too.

If his deal is tossed and it looks like any jail time then Joe will Pardon Him for all Federal Crimes and Hunter goes free. He could get a pardon for any and all crimes known and unknown going back however many years they want to, in essence a Total Blanket Pardon and that will happen.

Probably not just Joe Buydrugs and his clan would flunk drug tests.
There would be a lot of his staff flunking drug tests.
