The U.S. added 209,000 jobs in June, and the unemployment rate dipped to 3.6 percent, according to data released Friday by the Labor Department.

Economists expected the U.S. to add roughly 240,000 jobs last month and for the jobless rate to fall to 3.6 percent, according to consensus estimates, down from 3.7 percent in May.

Despite persistent recession warnings and rapid Federal Reserve rate hikes, the U.S. economy has remained sturdy throughout 2023.

The U.S. has added an average of 278,000 jobs per month this year, down from 399,000 per month in 2022 but well above the level needed to keep the economy growing.

Official unemployment rate is 3.6%.

Yet we have a record 105 million working age, able bodied adults not working.

Bit of a disconnect? How are those 105 million working age, able bodied adults making a living?

unemployment is at 3.6%? .Must be just those willing to work.. cut welfare to zero and see how many people now " want to work".

I believe when it comes down to able-bodied workers its more like 35% are unemployed. Im dead serious. welfare has replaced jobs paying people.

Yes third round of layoffs this year at my former employer.

247 year old investment bank, and they are not the only one.

Don’t talk to me about how great the economy is, utter bs

“well above the level needed to keep the economy growing.”

I guess that depends upon how you use the word ‘growing’.

There has to be close to one American of working age not working for every full time employed American right now.

The welfare/government aid/national debt will stop sometime. It’s going to really hurt when it happens.

“unemployment rate dipped to 3.6 percent”

We are closing fast on the 20th anniversary of the government cooking that particular number. It goes up or down depending on whether the ‘president’ is favored by the permanent deep state.

Anymore, if the dateline is Washington DC, I know to take anything there with a grain or two of salt.
Yeah Washington DC named for maybe the most honest of presidents, ironic is is not/

"Retired people are figured into that 104mil figure."

Does the gov't provide a number representing how many people should be employed, but aren't?

From the Article: "Even so, Fed officials are almost certain to resume interest rate hikes when the bank’s rate-setting committee meets in July. While the Federal Open Market Committee unanimously agreed to hold off on rate hikes last month, several officials privately advocated for another increase in June."

They're going to kill the housing Market.

A very important figure— the number of working age people- which may include the vast numbers of egg-sucking illegal aliens now on our tax dole. Working age and NOT working or even seeking work,

And, your points- How are they living? On the US giveaway digital welfare cards they have and certain political elements in Treasury are replenishing without any kind of audit as to what they are spending it on.

2 major points central to US Immigration Law. They sure have cell phones they took w/ them across the border, and they now have a pay APP that is supposed to be tracking them but isn’t . Resources have to support investigation of just where they are congregating... and even ask, what 5th Column foreign money is supporting them. In the digital age these are ALL possible to find out— but not in a Leftist Marxist takeover social justice warrior fedgov with employee warriors for their idiotic illegal cause.

A reckoning will have to come. The US total population is what 360 million citizens- 105 million is a third of that!

I think in 50 years. That will be the final day for economic America. Thank goodness I’ll be six feet under.

I doubt the DOL massaged Trump era numbers like they’re doing for Brandon.
