Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday announced that the state will no longer recognize a number of out-of-state driver licenses that are given to illegal immigrants, enacting restrictions in legislation passed earlier this year.
DeSantis, who is also running for president in 2024, announced that the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles has published a list of out-of-state license classes that are now invalid in Florida.
That list targets certain licenses given to illegal immigrants in Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Rhode Island and Vermont. It does not apply to typical driver licenses, but those with certain limitations -- including those that state they are "not for federal identification" are not REAL ID compliant or that are dubbed "limited purpose."

Hopefully not, a state-issued license for use within that state, should not be valid elsewhere. Otherwise, by that logic, our state-issued CCW will become nationally valid? Okay, I would take that as an acceptable trade-off.
This is actually why I want him to stay in FL.
I’d like to see him meeting with other GOP governors and bringing FL to the rest of the Red States.
AZ could learn a great deal from FL on how to run a state.
Both states could share info on identifying infiltrators and RINOs
For a variety of reasons my wife and I had all the “papers to get “real” licenses in the state of Hawaii.
Mainly because it is hard to drive to another state
or even to another island.
We must fly.
What Florida has done is good, but If they can’t deport the illegals, what good is the law?

My state doesn’t require real ID and I don’t fly so I won’t be going to visit DeSanchez and his swampy state
DeSantis is trying to make it more difficult for illegals to obtain a Florida license and/or use fake licenses from other states to get benefits, etc.

Many states issue regular driver's licenses to American citizens than are not Real ID compliant. Mine happens to be one of them and my driver's license is not Real ID compliant. So Florida won't recognize it now? That's going to be awkward should I ever visit Florida again. I have no need for a Real ID compliant driver's license and no plans on ever getting one.
DeSantis’s best chance now is if the Democrats dump Biden.
Starting with how to run free and fair elections. Until you fix that AZ is a blue state.
good idea. fake-id is fake-id, and should be punishable by confiscation at a minimum.
then you can get into the penalties for driving, working, etc., without a valid id.
I’ve heard some states will eventually only have real ID compliant licenses. So this could be in all of our futures.
But then, I’ve never understood the reasoning that we are all supposed to prove identity and citizenship to get a driver’s license , while at the same time, they give driver’s licenses in some states to people here illegally.
