If you’re saying that the hippy CEOs of Ben & Jerry’s are not Jewish, then the Jewish definition is what defines who is and is not Jewish. If you are not Jewish, then of what relevance to the Jewish faith is your definition. And even if you are, that does not elevate you to pontific authority over defining other Jews. Each faith defines its membership, just as the Elk Lodge or the Knights of Columbus define theirs.

Schumer, Nadler and Schiff can’t telling you who is Jewish. Neither can you. Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai and Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi can, and they have the Torah as their authority. None of that is inconsistent with the US Constitution. But there were Jews long before there was a US Constitution, or the New World was even discovered.
