Forbes pointed to misleading data and claimed on Monday there had been over 330 “mass shootings” in the United States so far in 2023.
They labeled their report “breaking” news.
Writing at Forbes, Ana Faguy relied on the Gun Violence Archive (GVA), a pro-gun-control database which abandoned the long-standing definition of a “mass shooting” as four or more deaths in a single incident by a single gunman and replaced it with “a minimum of four victims shot, either injured or killed, not including any shooter who may also have been killed or injured in the incident.” GVA’s new definition allows drive-by shootings, targeted gang attacks, and other non-mass shootings to be counted as “mass shootings,” thus inflating the number of reported incidents.

Steve Forbes, the Editor in Chief, isn't.
Steve Forbes understands freedom and the Free Market Economy better than anyone since Milton Friedman.
It has certainly descended into Deep State Shinola.
#propaganda from forbes.
Forbes reporting is usually better than most.
Ana Faguy used to be a “fact checker” for USA Today, which should tell you all you need to know.
The Lame Street Media seems to be supporting those numbers. I’ll bet starting tomorrow BB Biden starts his push for gun control ahead of the 2024 elections. Let’s see what their themes will be:
Gun Control
Abortion
Student loan forgiveness
Gay rights
Protecting transgenders
Allowing minor to opt in for sex change
Nothing about the economy
Nothing about the:”According to Customs and Border Protection, since January 2021 when Biden took the oath of office, there have been 5,118,661 encounters with illegal immigrants along the southern border.” Not including gotaways.
*sigh*
Steve Forbes is still Editor in Chief and his articles are dynamite, but the magazine was purchased by some kind of China organization and has deteriorated. It is absolutely biased against Trump.
I did not renew my subscription.
.
The entire notion of mass shooting is misleading as a statistic that can be used to indicate a solvable problem. Put every non-defense shooting on a map and look at the clusters. Then you will know where the problem is. A little further investigation will lead to more information.
The ENTIRE media has been using the same math formula.
So Forbes is willing to lie when it serves their political preference. I will remember this when they report on financial matters.
Big push right now inside all city crime investigation offices to declare murders, “suicides”. I have a neighbor who is such a crime scene technician. The pressure has been just the past few months.
330 Mass shootings? That’s just Chicago.
They include black party and nightclub parking lots. Skews things.
