I’ve seen nothing to make me think that this disaster needs to be laid off on the team driving the sub. Looks to me like total responsibility belongs with the person who had it built and the way he had it built.
He hired a surfer dude because he liked his stories or something
That kind of mentality got himself and 4 other innocents killed.
His quote was worse .
He did not want to hire 50 year old White Guys .
Oh course he was one and second
he just fired one an expert that said his craft was a Death trap .

Stockton Rush was a psychotic narcissist, but now he’s dead.
There’s nothing as inspirational as making it back safely
Some years ago, education departments at severals universities wanted to create a major, education engineering.
An engineering program run by the education department.
I wonder if those programs ever started up and what the graduates of those programs are doing.
That’s a shame.
I guess he couldn’t handle the pressure.
I’ll see myself out.
My guess? It was complete BS. He was just covering for the fact that he was running out of cash. IMHO, he was either (1) unwilling to dilute his shares by selling a chunk of his company to a wealthy investor or (2) unable to attract investor interest in a very niche business that might never make a dime. So he cut corners in hiring, knowing that an experienced submariner would not only not go along, but also go to the media about the safety problems he was ignoring. When the wreckage of this company is examined, I expect you will find it was on the verge of financial collapse.
I'm not sure this is technically correct. I would suspect, although it's really a matter of nanoseconds, the Titan ceased to exist as anything but a collection of parts, before the ill-fated crew died...ergo there was really nothing left for them to be, "on board," although they would have never known the difference.
Alas, within weeks he was seen in public consorting with a much younger employee, and someone at the top started to question just why he was so hot to hire "young talent." He left while the leaving was good, and his plan disappeared down the memory hole.
Me thinks Stockton Rush had no clue about submarines in water out of water maybe but not in water
Hey, Adam, this isn't right, we have to fix it now!
A submarine made by people who were hired because of racial preference:
Hey LaTrill, this piece is a bit smaller, but I think if use duct tape and caulking, it should be fine!
Guess which one OceanGate used??
Not so much enthusiasm but he didn’t want anyone to argue with him or even disagree. He was an arrogant, know-it-all ass and he is dead now because of it. Too bad others fell into his web and died as well.
They were overthrown, defeated and banished to Tartarus - the deep abyss.
Typically, CEO’s are arrogant, narcissistic Aholes. What was un-typical about this was that the Aholes died for his arrogance.
That does not happen nearly often enough.
It is not like Icarus getting toasted ‘cause he was inspired to try something he thought would work. It was simply another entitled Ahole demanding that the world comply with his expectations.
