Bud Light is now selling for less than water in some places following weeks of declining sales after the brand's disastrous partnership with Dylan Mulvaney.

America's former number one selling brew is now down almost 50 percent from its sales numbers a year ago.

The brand has lost upwards of $20billion since generating a massive wave of controversy over its partnership with trans influencer Mulvaney in early April.

Better not be cheaper than tap water. That’s what I drink.

Saw this at an Albertsons the other day. Marked $19.99 with a rebate at the cash register making it $4.99. A pack of Dasani or Aquafina was almost $6.

That clueless CEO should have been thrown over the side two months ago.
He still sounds unsure of what to say publicly. Getting rid of him may provide shareholders with some sense of security, especially if a new CEO expresses regret for working with Mulvany in the first place.

Went to a minor league baseball game last Friday night (Down East Wood Ducks) and they had exclusively AB products. Bush, Natural Light, Bud, and Michelob Ultra. (Bud Light not even offered).

Anyhow, opted for the Ultra. It was the sorriest excuse for a beer I’ve ever tasted. Tap water has more flavor. Ruined the game for me not being able to enjoy a real flavorful beer.

Now it’s 50% drop? Only 25% seemed a little too low considering what the shelves looked like, so they were probably still shipping the old contracted orders to bars and stores. Now we’ll start seeing more realistic numbers. Even then, they will probably hide the returns of unsold beer under other numbers.

I'm not much of a beer drinker anymore, and I've never touch Bud Light or any of the other light beers. No Bud since college, and even then, I was looking for other beers (usually imports) before graduating.

That said, this whole debacle got me to try Yuengling's amber lager for the first time. If I want a nice, refreshing beer, Yuengling is a good choice if I am not opting for a micro-brew beer or ale. Thanks, Bud!

“Can light beer be used to water my garden?”

A couple of my plants died, so I wouldn’t. Just throw it out.

He's in way over his head. No clue what to do in tough times like this. You can see in his latest interview, he has been trained to stick to the script.

The problem is, investors and potential/former customers perceive his behavior as inauthentic and they are not being listened to.

Authentic leadership would be apologize for the mistake to customers, offer bottling plant personnel compensation from CEO salary, and win back customer trust. Right now, they are digging in and customers are not coming back.

How often do you see someone buying/drinking a bud light these days?

I can picture liquor stores selling cases of.it to minors just to get rid of it

Exactly right, it’s what business schools charge money to teach MBAs about - “change cost”. Sometimes the cost of change is high and a real barrier - like the old cigarette ads “I’d rather fight than switch”. Many whisky drinkers are like that - they will never consider some “rotgut” over their preferred Jack Daniels or Makers Mark or whatever.

AB Inbev thought there Bud Light customers were too, but they figured wrong. Light beer is light beer, and the change cost is minimal, just a matter of grabbing a different package or ordering a different beer at the bar.

Companies like Budweiser pay people a lot of money to know this stuff and I’m sure they did - the delicious part is, they let their drive to be woke and hip over-ride their business knowledge and totally screwed the pooch. This wasn’t a simple mistake or flesh wound, they looked right down the barrel and pulled the trigger anyway.

I am against censorship but I would gratefully and generously allow all media to ban that freak’s image so we won’t have to look at it. No woman looks like that and no woman smiles like that. He is mocking women. He is revolting.
