DeSantis's campaign tweeted a video to mark the end of Pride month: 'Let's hear from the politician who did more than any other Republican to celebrate it…'
Ron DeSantis's campaign has been accused of homophobia after it tweeted a video highlighting Donald Trump's support of the LGBTQ community, and contrasted it with a bizarre montage of DeSantis's policies.
The DeSantis advert, after footage of Trump, then cuts to a montage of DeSantis striding in a 'manly' fashion across the screen, to a thumping, bass-heavy soundtrack.
The video comes as DeSantis's polling remains stubbornly low, with Trump significantly ahead among primary voters.
Attendee Alexis Spiegelman of Sarasota, Florida, told the New York Times that she felt DeSantis was merely a knock-off of the former Apprentice host.
'I just don’t know why we would want a knockoff when we have the real, authentic Trump,' she said.

Th problem is that Trump’s positions on LGBTQ are anathema to much of the GOP voter base. The DeSantis ad merely highlights Trump’s actual positions, some of which may be news to not just GOP voters, but voters in general.

It’s not a phobia, a fear. The proper name for it is “disgust”. No one is afraid of the homos or the trans, but millions are disgusted with both and are sick and tired of having their tolerance and compassion be abused and spit on.

I expect more of this from the DeSantis campaign as he continues to flounder.
It won’t do him any good, when the primary starts, Trump will roll up an insurmountable lead in delegates.
Eventually donors will “pull the plug” on DeSantos.
