Trump is basically anything goes, i.e. a libertine. That’s why he’s committed adultery numerous times. Trump’s libertinism is behind his cheerleading for LGBTQ, going back to before his candidacy.

Th problem is that Trump’s positions on LGBTQ are anathema to much of the GOP voter base. The DeSantis ad merely highlights Trump’s actual positions, some of which may be news to not just GOP voters, but voters in general.

One can’t even say getting along with LGBTQ people means he has sex with them or encourages the activity.

I get along with people who get drunk. I support drinking, but I don’t and I’ve never been drunk.

Does that make me a libertine, in your mind?
