“As president, I’ll do the same.” DeSantis has a history of following through with successful actions. The AP article misses another key point among the 200 laws that went into effect today. Out of state nonresident, drivers licenses are null and void! Wow!

Too damn late. How do you deport 5 to 10,000,000 people without causing any immigration invaders riots like in France. Have you seen what is going on in France? The invaders have high power rifle snipers on roofs targeting the police and military. Those types of Effin terrorist are here right now… they are just buying their time waiting patiently for the right time, The Chinese, Middle East terrorists, African muslim terrorists dangerous criminals etc…all those have been given a green light by this EFFIN evil Administration to cross our borders without restrictions to destabilize our nation. Don’t you dare think for one minute what is happening in France cannot happen here because easily we’ll have at least 20 million invaders who would in a heartbeat riot if a Muslim youth justifying was shot by a police for a crime.

WOW is right DeSantis-fan #2

Out of State drivers license null and void.

Men’s no more reciprocity between the other 49 states. Means that a father, on vacation with his family, will go to jail if he commits a traffic violation, is pulled over by police and they decide to write him. Given that a traffic ticket is considered a…Summons in Lieu of an Arrest.

No more ‘In Lieu Of’. Physical arrest or letting everyone go.

Awesome….so little Susie and Billy get to see their dad in cuffs, in the back of a patrol car for slow rolling a stop sign.

Also means that Florida drivers in the other 49 states will have the same consequences since there is no more reciprocity agreement concerning Driver’s licenses. Which all 50 states HAD until now. Because that’s how it works. Buried deep down in the code books, where everyone has forgotten about, are reciprocity agreements concerning drivers licenses.

Those reciprocity agreements are also the reason why gun permits are valid in some states and not in others.

Wonder what that’s going to do to the tourism industry, given that the money generated from it is one of the main reasons Florida doesn’t have a state income tax.

voids drivers licenses issued by other states to people in the country illegally...

Emphasis for the benefit of people who can't be bothered to actually read the article, and then ignorantly (or is it maliciously?) misrepresent the new law.

And hospitals can ask, but if an illegal shows up at an ER, thanks to EMTALA the illegal can’t be turned away, even if the illegal is just there for non-emergent care.

And DeSantis knows this.

“Hospitals that accept Medicaid to ask patients if they are citizens or legally in the United States”

Although I don’t oppose this I doubt it will survive a court challenge.

All great new laws, including a few that I hadn't heard of, including...

The law also forces hospitals that accept Medicaid to ask patients if they are citizens or legally in the United States and voids drivers licenses issued by other states to people in the country illegally.

Good work Governor DeSantis!

You da Gov!

You'll be a great President!

Why are only companies with MORE than 25 employees are required to verify that the people who work there are legitimate through E-Verify? I wonder what percentage of the worker population is exempt because the employer has 24 or less.......

Remember several years ago when the first state passed a law removing concealed carry restrictions and permitting and the media predicted shoot-outs in the streets? I believe Vermont has always been that way but about 20 years ago, Wyoming removed permitting requirements. Meanwhile, democrat controlled states continued to pass more and more restrictive gun laws.

The increasing crime and “shoot-outs” didn’t happen in Wyoming as predicted. Instead gun-involved crimes were on the increase in the states with the most restrictive gun laws. And, that pattern has increased steadily in the past few years. Part of the problem, of course, is the import of foreign gang members and the drug cartel.

Of course, democrat politicians ignore those issues and blame increasing crime on the “gun lobby”.

So, we will hear predictions once more of “blood in the streets” in Florida and with every report on a shooting the concerned “talking heads” will ask the question “Did the new law cause this shooting?” Their guest (brought on to specifically give the correct answer) will nod their head and respond, “Yes Jake, it did”. Neither will mention the drug trade or illegal aliens and the culture they bring with them, but the NRA logo will be displayed prominently during the broadcast segment.

I know he thinks he can drive all that through at the federal
level, but that thought reveals how easy he has had it in
Florida. His Legislature is Conservative. Wait until he
runs into one that isn’t. He clearly doesn’t grasp that yet.

Trump could tell him a thing or two about having the majority
too, since guys like a Ryan or McConnell can at will refuse
to comply with your campaign promises or desires, no matter
how good they would be for the nation.

I do like these things in Florida. I’ve appreciated what
Ron has done down there, and that’s a major reason why I’m
not upset he won’t be leaving anytime soon.

Lots of anti-DeSantis posts here.

Question: have you folks considered the situation that (if Mister Trump wins the nom) that you will need us DeSantis supporters (as well as Indies) and others who comprise the insulted ones?

Wise leaders know the value of tact and diplomacy.

Unwise candidates (the unpresidential, character-lacking, the unwilling to think before posting or acting) will not advance to the POTUS. Even though I, and many other DeSantis supporters will vote for Trump if he wins the nom, Trump can never win the general. And, it's Trump's fault.
