On Friday’s broadcast of CNN’s “Situation Room,” White House National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby responded to claims in a State Department report that there was a failure to plan for worst-case scenarios during the planning of the withdrawal for Afghanistan by stating that President Joe Biden’s team prepared for “low-probability, high-risk worst-case scenarios” and Biden wanted this from the early going.
Host Wolf Blitzer asked, “The State Department [says] that — in this report they said that it was a chaotic Afghanistan withdrawal, saying there was insufficient consideration of what it described as the worst-case scenarios. Did that failure to plan for the worst case cost lives?”

If he is speaking, he is lying. Every word, always.
aka....we screwed up. They watched the Taliban takeover...and should have nipped it in the bud...Oh no...said Joe...I have a plan...
What “plan”?
It’s important to not that not a single person has been fired due to their decision making over the Afghanistan debacle.
The plan where we let Afghanies raid the airport after we spilled the beans that we are pulling out so a few could climb on the exterior of the evacuating C-5 and fall to their death when we raise the landing gear. Yeah, that plan.
First they said it was the previous administration’s fault for committing them to a course of action and not having a good plan.
Then a report says the planning was terrible.
Now they say they had a good plan.
Regardless of any of the above, they failed miserably.
What does that even MEAN?
The word salad untossed: these incompetents assigned a “ low probability” to the disaster that occurred. And never had plans in place to deal with it if it occurred ( which it did)
Like getting people and equipment out ( or destroying weapon systems) rather than letting the taliban become one of the world’s best equipped militaries in 72 hours.
With a huge modern air base, data on every Afghan that cooperated with the USG, and thousands of American hostages to boot.
FAIL in intel and planning across all agencies.
Translation: “We prepared for the worst but didn’t think it would be nearly that bad.”
A lie and a lame effort at saving face.
Trump had the right plan but Brandon’s administration was not about to prove how successful it would be by implementing it. So they winged a different one.
He must be the door to door vaccuum sales boy for Kirby vacs.
He does suck up a lot for Biden.
“John Kirby responded to claims in a State Department report that there was a failure to plan for worst-case scenarios during the planning of the withdrawal for Afghanistan by stating that President Joe Biden’s team prepared for “low-probability, high-risk worst-case scenarios””
OK. They planned and still failed. Even worse.
Yah, the WHouse prep work is packaging a list of lies for when the fan spins up.
I don’t think they fired anyone because no one really prepared a plan. It was like three-hundred people were told not to worry about anything and just prepared for a normal day in Afghanistan to occur.
They just can’t stop lying. A blind guy could see what was coming when Biden and DoD closed Bagram a month prior.
In other words, they no longer teach Risk Management at the Academies. Just flipping wonderful.
BIDEN would screw up a fire DRILL.
This jerk woke up one morning and told the Pentagon to pull out of Afghanistan “right now!”
Biden’s Afghan event was directed by political operatives who always did their term paper at the last minute. In the artificail world of the university it worked.
If their education had been similar to the real world Afghan would have been different.
