The only so,union is to raise the amount of “allowed theft” from $1000 per theft to $10,000 per theft. That’ll stop all the theft /s
That’s OK, because the perpetrators vote for Democrats.
They are not shoplifters, they are raiders. Kill them for the predators they are and their raiding will stop.
The little piggies are being taught starting in Head Start that if you see something you want, JUST TAKE IT. America has gone for the Land of the Free to the Land of the Free Stuff. The illegal aliens see America as the land of the Big Piñata.
I saw where some pharmacies have ALL their stock inside locked shelves and employees must get the objects out and take to the cashier...
Large cities are the leaders of decline the result of inept leadership but by God they have inclusion.
It’s like asking for free warts
The thieves regard it as “reparations”.
Retail shopping will soon be relegated to the Internet with warehouse customers doing pre-paid basket store pickup or the merchant doing pre-paid home delivery. No money upfront, no merchandise.
Starting to look like the real dummies in America are the people who go to work and pay for things.
Maybe we should have massive stay homes and gather at stores to take our fair share.
They used to hang horse thieves. Perhaps that hanging ought to come back in style.
Deceased seldom steal again.
I would like to see what shoplifting was, say five years ago. Did it go from $10 billion to $100 billion, or $80 billion to $100 billion? Also, what is the increase in California and New York versus Mississippi and North Dakota?
Liberals will never admit their mistakes. To the contrary. They will double down wherever possible. So I see little chance of these cities fixing themselves.
This would leave a store with only two options. Shut down, or embrace the ‘Service Merchandise’ model. Put catalogues at the front of the store. A customer orders something from the catalog, and pays for it. A worker in a secure stockroom gets the item, and puts it on a conveyor belt for the customer to retrieve.
Easy, eh? But I’m rather sure neighborhood activists will scream racism or disrespect or whatever. Sigh. I guess nothing is perfect.
The people who are doing the stealing aren’t going to give it up if the criminal penalties are restored. They like the free things given to them by the democrats and are not going to become law-abiding citizens any time soon.
What about us? We stand in the checkout line and PAY. We pay in higher prices as well. We deserve reparations big time.
"The shoplifting epidemic taking over America with a $100B annual price tag"
The real problem is this imo.
As a consequence of ordinary qualified, but constitutionally low-information citizen voters abusing their 17th Amendment power by cluelessly electing crooks to the federal Senate, the corrupt, constitutionally undefined political parties who have consequently been able to pirate control of the federal government are unsurprisingly not doing their constitutionally enumerated jobs to make sure that likewise corrupt state governments are guaranteeing the people the republican form of government that they are paying for. (Are we having fun yet?)
"Article IV, Section 4: The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government [emphasis added], and against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence."
Regarding 2024 elections, it's up to Democratic and Republican pro-Trump MAGA patriots to initiate the final stage of Trump 47's second term mission to finish draining the swamp by primarying as many of our beloved state and federal lawmakers and executives as we can.
After all, lawmakers and executives continue to show that they do not have the patriotism and leadership skills necessary to find legislative support for effective remedies for unconstitutional government policies.
In fact, given that one of the very few powers that the states have expressly constitutionally given to the unconstitutionally big federal government to dictate domestic policy is to run the Mail Service (most federal domestic policy actually based on stolen state powers), the worst problem that the peacetime country would otherwise be looking at with a new Congress of freshman lawmakers is a delay with mail delivery.
"Article I, Section 8, Clause 7: To establish Post Offices and post Roads;"
Trump can endorse candidates that Constitution-savvy patriots recommend as long as candidates are not incumbents, candidates also promising to repeal the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th (popular voting for federal senators) Amendments after they win office.
The definition of insanity is reelecting your beloved career state and federal lawmakers and executives over and over again, expecting those same politicians to find remedies for unconstitutional government policies every time.
There is a way to curtail this.
Looks like large cities will be becoming Big Box deserts if their losses continue from stealth. The Walmarts of the country will confine themselves to suburbs and country areas and close their loss centers in the large cities who will have to make do with Amazon.
The rest of us get to pay that $100B bill.
Portland; Chicago; New York; Baltimore; and San Francisco
Is there a common denominator here? I can’t quite figure it out.
All by design.
And, somehow, Wall Street overlooks this and the markets continue upward. Wow...what a rigged system.
