I know of at least 5 people at my workplace who all qualified for student loan forgiveness because they work for a nonprofit. They actually brought it up in a department meeting, telling people to “submit applications now.” One of them told me her total was $16,000. Is that possible? Or maybe she owed that much and they knocked it down by $10,000? I’m curious what will happen with that.

Also curious about how this will affect Obama’s policy of removing student loans from bankruptcy claims.

People who recieved Pell grants were eligible for 20K, so it’s entirely possible she got 16K if that is what she owed.
