The justices ruled 6-3 against Biden's controversial plan to wipe out debts for around 20 million Americans, which the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals blocked in October.

Still winning, the only blip this session is how race can be a factor in congressional lines but not in universities.

>admin, this is not fake news so please do not pull this time

Agree, that was strange.

Regardless, good decision. I paid off my student loan decades ago.

After this, no one should call Roberts a liberal. At worst, he is an unreliable conservative. At best, he is not a rubber stamp for the right wing.

For the “No Difference Between the Parties” bunch, think about what this REALLY was:

It was DISTRIBUTION of government money, many, many billions worth, WITHOUT approval of Congress.

Look at the court vote, the Constitution is PERFECTLY clear as to where distributions must originate, which is CONGRESS.

Now think, PLEASE, if you “No Difference Between the Parties” bunch had gotten your way, Trump either would have never been president, or would have never gotten ANY of his Supreme Court picks confirmed.

Given that, the Supreme Court would likelyt now be 7-2, or at least 6-3 Leftist if Skunk Cabbage had won in 2016...and the ability of the President to act as a PURE DICTATOR when it came to distributing taxpayer money, would have almost certainly have been confirmed.

The Supreme Court, and the razor-thin Republican majority in the House. That’s it. Without those we’re a full blown Marxist dictatorship. There’s still a tiny glimmer of hope, and the patient (the Republic) is still alive, though barely.

It’s an excellent opportunity to get the Feds out of the student loan Ponzi schemes. Sell off the student loans to private equity firms and let them worry about collecting on the debts. One less thing people can blackmail the politicians with...

I’m curious as to how this is going to effect my two daughters as their loans previously showed as paid off and zeroed out as they both owed less than than they were eligible for.

I expect a class action lawsuit will be forthcoming if there is a clawback reinstating already forgiven loans.

What scam will democrats roll out for the 2024 vote buying cycle? More importantly, how many marks will fall for it?

I figure that is the next RAT move. Pack the court before the election.

I also would tell conservative Justices to have really good security in place from here on out.

Biden cannot cancel the debt, but he can pay it off. I expect that is next.

Donald Trump is basking in these SC decisions, and should. It may pull a few DeSantis fans back into the fold.

DeSantis may have indeed appointed similar judges and gotten similar SC decisions, but nonetheless, Trump has done it.

Hat tip to Mitch.
