It was decided on “free speech” grounds. It seems to me the Supreme Court should have also applied the 13th Amendment: “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.”

Requiring someone to perform a service she/he does not wish to perform is involuntary servitude or modern day government mandated slavery.

Do protected classes come from civil rights laws which banned discrimination?

I know people use that term all the time, and refer to minority groups, homosexuals, and others, as protected classes.

But if we want to be truly equal, why are there protected classes in the place? That’s what I don’t know as to where that concept came from.

I guess Hollywood won’t be forced to make movies about happy families.

“I thought cases like this had already been resolved when the “bake the cake” Nazis lost.

Why do we keep doing this?”

That was not resolved. It was remanded back to the lower court to be reconsidered.

“The decision narrows states’ ability to apply public accommodation laws to artists, dealing“

Another lie from The Hill. The creeps purposely sought out a Christian business to force them when there are dozens of alternatives

Well, they’ve bankrupted more than one business with these cases, I’m sure. So the Perv Supremacists remain victorious.

WOW! To correct decisions in two days.

My thoughts exactly. The real problem is that most Americans are ‘shocked’ by the ‘extremist’ Supreme Court actually following the Constitution.

“grants a business open to the public a constitutional right to refuse to serve members of a protected class.”

Now, do that with the unmasked pandemic defiers.

I thought cases like this had already been resolved when the “bake the cake” Nazis lost. Why do we keep doing this?

Because nothing is ever "settled" until it is settled the way the Left wants it settled. They NEVER STOP.

Did you notice how long it took the Left to come up with a workaround for yesterday's takedown of affirmative action in college admissions? Less than two hours. They were already ready with the comeback, while we spend our time cheering our wins.

To misquote 1984, we are always at war with Eastleftia.

"Today, the Court, for the first time in its history, grants a business open to the public a constitutional right to refuse to serve members of a protected class."

I guess Sotomayor didn't get the memo that the court struck down the idea of "protected classes" yesterday on equal protection grounds, in the Affirmative Action case.

So, every business in the USA, of any kind, at any time, could legally refuse to serve you, do a service for you, sell you something, buy something from you?

Stop talking and sit down now, you are speaking idiocy.

Joe Biden said yesterday, that the affirmation action ruling would not be the last word on the issue.

His handlers who write his statements for him, told him to say it would not be the last word.

Generally, it seems that, if a ruling goes the way the liberals prefer, then the issue is said to be settled for all time. But if a ruling goes against the liberal view, then that ruling is supposed to be up for review and reconsidered.

Finally. Is this a blanket principle now, or just narrowly applying to this merchant?
