Given the supermajority of the Republicans, you have to wonder how Cooper was elected

Democrat strongholds. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were more votes than registered voters there.
A Republican legislator that acts like it’s in charge?
How novel.
Its because all the Republicans that run for governor suck.
Much of the states population is centered in the ‘Piedmont Crescent” and includes Charlotte/Winston-Salem/Greensboro/Raleigh/Durham. This region votes heavily for the ‘Rats. The rest of the state is fairly conservative and contains the majority of the state legislative districts. Since the democrat voters are heavily concentrated in a relatively smaller number of districts, the GOP has the advantage in the legislature. Statewide races can go either way. Most of the GOP gubernatorial candidates in my lifetime have been squishy RINO types, so the ‘Rats usually win.
Sadly, yes there are people who did that.
It is GLORIOUS seeing the Republicans use their supermajority to stuff bill after bill after bill right down Cooper’s throat. There are a lot more to go. I would LOVE to see the legislature pass constitutional carry and then stuff that down Cooper’s throat too.
“...you have to wonder how Cooper was elected...”
Same way Biden was (and Hobbs, Fetterman, Whitmer etc).
