And the non-existent memo was probably typed up on an IBM Selectric typewriter.
Yep
When one gets so hungry for a particular narrative that they are easy prey for fake news. Its all too easy a trap to fall into these days of rapid info. When news sources fall victim to it, they become worthless.
Apparently the tape is more about him openly saying he was aware he no longer had the power to declassify them and had not, and shouldn’t be showing people etc. It shoots his whole original argument in the foot
I am happy to hear it.
All these invented witch-hunt tricks are making Trump stronger every day. The left media is actually the one helping Trump the most - thanks to their utter idiocy.
The left media are our useful idiots.
Curses! TDS FReepers foiled again!
Perhaps. Or the deep state doesn’t want it revealed they were planning to start a war with Iran.
Just might be the stupidest of stupid takes. I'm going to show these fools by entrapping myself into a federal indictment and then when they try to convict me, I'll just say "ha, it was all an act!".
There have been US military plans to attack Iran drafted and redrafted over and over for forty years. Iran is a US enemy, they overran our embassy and held our diplomats hostage for over a year and we had at least one failed military assault planned to rescue those hostages... and stuff hasn't gotten much better since then. Making those attack plans is what military planners get paid to do, and we have hundreds of them employed in the US military. The idea that no plans exist is absurd.
Was Trump talking about one of those plans, or a document derived from those plans, at least abstractly? Probably. Was he showing a classified document that he deliberately withheld from government collectors illegally? That's complicated, but it's unprovable. Does it sound like he was showing a classified document to a person not authorized for that classified document? Yeah, it does.
What will a jury do? It all depends on the makeup of the jury, but juries are normally swayed by stuff like this audio. He is rather directly saying he's doing the thing he's being charged with doing. Even if this is not one fo the documents he's been caught with, it's pretty easy for the government to say "yes, there were documents provided to the President that fit this description that were not returned to the archives." Direct audio or video, as evidenced by the trial in New York just a few months ago, is damning.
I'll be happy to be wrong, I'm not rooting for it, but expect at least one charge to stick. Then what? That's the real question.
The whole issue is a joke.............If this is all Smith has, he is in trouble, what a joke.
Jack Smith’s office leaks like the Titanic.
MSNBC is garbage. It is not in any way, shape or form journalism.
T”rump knew he was being recorded and played these fools.”
Trump said in recent interviews that he didn’t do anything wrong and that no one told him that he was doing anything wrong.
The CBS report doesn’t claim that the Iran nemo doesn’t exist.
Here is a link to the CBS report:
The Stalin Project, and all of the “news media” are hummina hummina hummina this morning. LOL!
That's an interesting theory. To be honest, I have been thinking this latest revelation (the Trump/aide recording with the paper rustling) was pretty devastating. I have bristled at the "what-about-ism" response from pro-Trump supporters (of which I am one, btw). "What about Biden?" is not a court-admissible defense.
I would love to see President Trump display a video of himself and the aide setting up and acting out this scene.
I hope this is true.
.
Here is a "conspiracy theory" that I have considered (but don't have any reason to believe...): Has anyone considered the possibility of an AI produced audio recording? It is entirely possible!
Lawfare 101. Shape the narrative.
Q: Why would the SC illegally leak a tape seemingly damning of Trump?
A: The “evidence” will/would not be admissbale in court.
